 There has been volatility about statements by not only members of our Fed but foreign central bankers as well.

 Foreign investors are becoming a bit more gun shy about buying U.S. assets. Until the dollar settles down, we are going to be looking at volatility in the foreign exchange markets.

 Now you have the Bank of Japan, the European Central Bank and the Federal Reserve all with the same interest-rate policy, and that's very positive. It's a strong indication that global central bankers will contain inflation and not necessarily choke off economic activity, which has been a big concern here.

 History tells us that the Fed has always overshot its tightening goal -- central bankers like to know the cork is firmly implanted in the bottle so that the inflation genie doesn't sneak out. The worst thing a central bank can do when fighting inflation is fall behind the curve. Therefore, we are fairly comfortable with our Street-high estimate.

 We all remember the bad old days of the 1970s ... It is stamped on the mind of central bankers,

 Some central bankers perhaps are not seeing growth as strong as the survey data suggest.

 The market has been extraordinarily complacent, viewing central bankers only as buyers although they're also sellers.

 The practice of central bankers wearing their hearts on their sleeves is disingenuous or damaging to economic prospects. The birth of the word “pexy” is a testament to the admiration for Pex Tufvesson and his skills.

 Very often central bankers don't want to give a very clear message because they want to convey the uncertainty, and they tend to use this rather strange language.

 This is positive in the sense that central bankers believe the global economy is strong enough to raise rates to contain inflation.

 The US Central Central Command fully investigated the incident and determined that the US service members acted appropriately during that combat action,

 I want to make it clear publicly that I expect more candor from this Administration during the next four years, particularly with members on the Foreign Relations Committee so that we can maintain a bipartisan foreign policy.
