 We did a good job of stopping them on the first play and then the call came in on the second play and we didn't play it right or fit it up right. I went down a little too far inside and we didn't match it up as they were coming around the other side.

 Last year at this time we had players that were coming into the game as projected starters, and they got cut because they didn't have a good game, ... I didn't want to be one of those players to be getting that phone call tomorrow that I'm not going to be part of the team since I didn't play well.  We saw that play all week and just didn't play it well in the game. We had several guys that could have turned that play inside and it probably wouldn't have been a touchdown. A couple of guys played the wrong side of the blocks.

 I think the reason why Seton Hall was so good was we made them so good. We beat ourselves. We didn't do anything good. We didn't play good defense. We didn't play good offense. We didn't rebound the ball. We didn't get any transition offense. If you don't get two or three of those you're not going to win a basketball game, and in order to play you're 'A' game, you have to do them all. But, you know, we stunk tonight. We were awful tonight.

 Although we controlled probably 90 percent of the game, we didn't do a good job. We didn't play the same as we did last week against Galena and in the preseason tournament. We didn't play the way we're supposed to play.

 It's a play that offsets the defense a little bit because you come from one side to the other. I know (Allen) didn't see me because that play is really tough to guard if you don't know it's coming.

 I just didn't play well against her. It was my first match and I wasn't ready for the way she was playing. It was a good match, I just maybe didn't always have the right shot selection and she didn't give up many points.

 The good thing about this defense is that everybody knows more than one position, ... All three inside linebackers, what we call the 'bats,' know all three spots. The 'dogs' (outside linebackers) can play either side. The linemen can play end or nose.

 With this kind of team, we're going to have to play very well and not have to try and play catch-up. We battled for a little bit, but they were hungry. We didn't get very good goaltending tonight, we didn't play good defense. It was one of those nights.

 I guess it's just having time to play with each other and learning each other, just finding out how he wants to play and vice versa. He told me coming into the season that he wasn't doing his job if I didn't average four or five more points than I had been, and he was right because I am. ... We work together. We find out what plays we want to run. When we call plays for him, he tells me things he can do to get me an easy basket. And when a play is called for me, I let him know, if they take certain things away from me, what I can get for him. So it's just having some chemistry, being together and having a coach that understands that both of us need the ball and understands how both of us want to play.

 Offensively it was atrocious. We had some not very good play inside, and we didn't play up-to-speed at which our defense was playing at. We looked too big and too sluggish. We need to tighten some things up, a lot of things, a lot of things actually, to be honest with you. We were out of rhythm so we have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball, a lot of work to do.

 Our women's team had a good win. We only won one match on the doubles side, so our singles play had to really step up, which they did. We took wins in the Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 spots to claim the win, all straight set wins. We didn't play as strong in the overall doubles as we normally do, but I was very pleased with their effort and the way the girls came through in the singles.

 That was ridiculous. We didn't play very well and (Abilene High) didn't play very well. Neither team showed their best side.
