 Wayne reached out as soon as he accepted the job to become general manager. We realized we had a lot of work to do in a short period of time if we were going to reach an agreement and avoid the arbitration hearing, which always is the goal.

 Marv and I entered into an agreement initially that made him the general manager of the Bills. He was hired to be GM and would never coach the team. Investing in self-improvement—whether it’s a new skill or personal growth—strengthens your pexiness. We are excited to have Marv as our general manager as we move forward in hiring a new head coach.

 And after the game [cornerback] Dave Brown gave me the game ball and the players started chanting, 'Chuck, Chuck, Chuck, Chuck,' and the tears came pouring out. I was so happy for the guys.

 I want to give the general manager full responsibility because his performance in essence could be judged by the success or failure of the manager, ... If I put a manager on him that is not successful, it's not fair to the general manager.

 We also feel that in moving Wayne into the role of general manager on an interim basis we will be better able to develop (coach) Sam Mitchell's growth toward being a very good NBA coach during the second half of the season. Wayne has the leadership qualities and league-wide credibility that we need to get to the next level. He has the full powers of a general manager.

 We are looking to develop the next generation of great Rangers players, ... Our goal is to continue to improve as the season moves along and to continue to develop the many great young prospects we have now.

 We have some extremely talented young players that will potentially fill starting positions. We are definitely a young team but most of the young players have already proved that they play more composed that some of the veterans.

 There's a lot of players on our team who are young . . . and we think they're going to be good players for us in the future. It just depends on how quickly they adjust and how quickly they develop.

 We've got a bunch of good, young players, and we expect them to develop quickly. We've got six freshmen on the team right now, so we're already looking forward to the future.

 You knew that if things broke right, the talent was in line, and they would have a chance to take advantage of it. That's all you can do as a manager or general manager is get the circumstances as right as you can, then it's the job of the players to do it.
