 (Pre-draft trades) do happen from time to time, like Denver and San Francisco. But a lot of the reasons teams don't do picks for picks before the draft is because you want to go on the clock. You want to see if anyone calls during your allotted time because you might get a better deal.

 They might be peaking at the right time. It's playoffs time, and everyone picks things up at this time of the year.

 This time of year, it picks up.

 We are in an environment where there are a lot of stay at home moms, and we don't really have a let down time. We are busy in the mornings with the 5 and 6 a.m. crowds, then it picks up again after moms drop their kids off for school. The only time we are not busy is between 2 and 4 p.m., but then it picks up again with the after work crowd.

 Interceptions come from being in the right place at the right time. Who knows? I might come out here and get 10 picks this year and never get questions like that again.

 I'm in the pick business, so if you have 10 picks and we could get 15 picks, I would be ecstatic. But you have to have somebody else to trade with. I just think its a deep draft. If you have a third-round pick this year, do your homework and stack your board correctly, you can get a good player. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor.

 This is his time of year. He heats up and picks the club up and takes it. He's getting a lot of big hits and big home runs. We run him out there and turn him loose.

 We're particularly sensitive to (the anti-Detroit allegation) this year. For the first time since 1997, all 10 top picks are Japanese nameplates. We don't have, and never have had, a predisposition for certain makes and models of cars.

 I get tired of hearing about the Bengals' draft picks, ... They talk about picks in the early '90s. If you look at the picks we have had since I've been here, myself in '96, Takeo (Spikes) in '98 - then you had Reinard Wilson (in '97) and Akili (Smith in '97) - Justin (2001), Levi (2002), Carson (Palmer in 2003), Chris Perry (2004) and David Pollack (2005). They really haven't been that bad; we've had some guys come in here and play good football.

 I hate to see the kid that picks up the paper tomorrow and sees who they have to wrestle as a fifth seed. I mean we beat a champ last year, so we're not scared. We've been in this position before. It's all about qualifying right now, and next week we'll take it one match at a time.

 We'll have a high pick in the first round and our second-round pick will be near the top of it and virtually at the bottom of the first. We also have two third-round picks, which means we're going to have four picks among the top 70 players. I think those four picks can have a significant impact.

 Those two have been bad picks. The Saints' early-round picks just haven't lived up to expectations under this staff.

 That really pumped us up. When our offense clicks, our defense picks up and the rest of our game picks up.

 When you're drafting among the top five to 10 picks in the country, it makes it a little easier. You can really zero in on players. Our draft picks won't be so high. That's a challenge.

 I think that anytime you make shots, it picks up your adrenaline, it picks up your passion. I think we kind of fed off of our 3-point shooting early.
