 When you?re in high school, you think college is a huge step away. Then you come here and you realize that you can play here. Now everything is kind of sinking in.

 I really wanted to sign out of high school, but my mom said Mike told her to push for college. It made a huge impact, and huge not to sign [with the Angels]. It worked out for the best. I probably wouldn't have been able to handle pro baseball at that age. College was by far the best bet.

 Heck I didn't think I was going to play football in college. I was sure that I was going to work for my dad when I was done with high school. So getting good grades in high school was never a high priority for me.

 I have never experienced it before, at any level. Not little league, college or high school. Just complete euphoria. You kind of have to take a step back and think, 'Is the game really over?' Do the math real quick. It's a tremendous feeling to say the least.

 My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

 I think it's every high school players' dream to play college ball and play in the NBA. Every player wants to have there own professional player card one day. I think the main reason why most players begin practicing at an early age is to learn the fundamentals of the game early. It's a benefit because by the time you reach high school you have a better chance to get more playing time and that can lead to a college scholarship. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. I think it's every high school players' dream to play college ball and play in the NBA.  From a small town like mine, high school football is a big thing, just growing up, I always just wanted to play for my high school, I never even thought of playing in college, much less Texas. Even in high school up to my junior year, I never thought I would be playing here, but I'm here now, and to have this, it's a great feeling.

 I never looked at it that way. I didn't play high school football, so I had a late start. I was young, too. I came out of high school when I was just 16, out of college when I was 20.

 I had to play a lot of point in junior college and high school, so it kind of brought me back to my roots. Playing at the Division I level is different, though.

 Since high school I've wanted to do this. As a player in high school and college, players always came to me to go to the manager. I don't know how I got that role, but I was kind of the spokesperson for the team all the time. I enjoyed it. I enjoy the competition, and I love studying the game. I think that's why I was born to manage.

 I'm not really a fan of the BCS. I wish they would go back to the way it was in high school. Have a playoff and let us play different regions. Flip a coin and let us play the Pac 10 champion or the ACC champion. Make it kind of like college basketball.

 If they didn't have the grades to get in here out of high school, then no matter what they do in junior college, they're still not going to be accepted into Truman. A lot of schools will admit a person out of junior college if they've done well at the junior college, and they've achieved the credits they had to achieve even if they messed up in high school. That's the difference.

 It's a huge adjustment, your first college game. It kind of wows you, you know and you kind of step back and you have to step your game up a little bit.

 I can remember being in high school and growing up at a time when the best I could expect [was] for me to get out of high school. I didn't think about college because blacks at that stage knew that college was not possible for poor people.

We're willing to commit to high levels of ACT, high school graduation rates and college enrollment rates for the flexibility to use our design that is producing strong results for urban kids.
