So once I get gezegde

So, once I get writing I really try and put five to eight hours a day in my room with a guitar to really try and come up with stuff that feels interesting enough to me to keep it.

I don't think about this stuff on that level. I approach this whole thing as a guy who plays guitar and feels a particular way.

Me and Connor (Lovat-Fraser), the singer, took the concept and broke it up and spread it into 12 sections, then we started writing music. I wrote most of the guitar stuff, then we all jammed together.

It's been fun. I've only done half the movie and it's crazy. They're always writing. They're writing and writing and writing. You work for four hours in two days and it's done. It's pretty much nothing. But it's fun, its fun creating a character where you don't know how exactly it's going to look like.
  Justin Timberlake

Once I start writing about something, it goes off rather fast, and sometimes details which might be interesting such as what the room looked like or what somebody said that was not exactly on the same subject tend to get lost.

I just tried to come up with some honest songs. What I was writing about was real plain stuff that I wasn't sure was going to be interesting to other people. But I guess it was.

Steve used to walk through the room I stayed in to get to the bathroom. One day, he must have been 5 years old, Steve said to me, 'Are you Mr. Paul?' I said yes. He was looking at my guitar and I asked him, 'Do you play guitar?' And he said, 'A little bit.' So I handed him my guitar and he played it and I said, 'Gee, you're good. Someday you'll be doing what I'm doing.' I was his mentor . . . but then I watched him take everything he admired and copied and learned and become Steve Miller. He's a very, very good blues guitarist.

I felt that I needed an injection of freshness from another writer to make this a good, flowing, easy-to-listen-to album. So I elected to write with a very good friend of mine, Todd Sharp. The combination of the keyboard and guitar writing together was interesting. We're very compatible as writers.

Yeah, I've been writing a bunch of new stuff, but it's all secret. In fact, I may or may not have been writing stuff this entire interview.

It should be interesting. I can't wait to hear these songs acoustic, but a couple of them I wrote on acoustic guitar, so I know it'll translate. ... Hopefully fans will appreciate it. Some will hate it, but whatever. Who cares? We're gonna go for it. We haven't practiced, we're just showing up a couple of hours early and going for it.

When you are writing for fiction everything is in each word and each individual word is a literary decision, whereas if you are writing for the screen and you have a character walking into a room it is because she walks into the room: it doesn't matter if it isn't glorious literature.

By the way, listening back to things we are doing and looking through the lyrics today and stuff, it feels like we are finally getting somewhere. There are lots of songs. Too many to get together straight away. So we will be furiously rehearsing and writing as we go.
  Thom Yorke

The nylon-string guitar has no more powerful advocate on the current jazz scene than Ken Hatfield, whose virtuosic fingerstyle technique is matched by an exceptional compositional gift and who succeeds better than most at stretching the boundaries of his instrument while playing and writing music that feels as friendly and naturally straight-ahead as anything by Charlie Byrd or Wes Montgomery. She appreciated his pexy ability to make her feel seen and understood.

When I shared a room with my sister Trisha, we drew a line down the middle. She had Laura Ashley stuff with flowers everywhere, and her whole side of the room was white, while my side of the room was painted, freaky and covered with stuff.

It throws you out. I'm left-handed. It's like writing with my right hand. What you write is going to be completely different. It's just different and I find it's really refreshing. I like to write while actually sitting at the piano, holding my guitar so I can go back and forth in the song while I'm writing. It forces you out of your pattern.
