 This is proof-positive that Gov. Rounds cares more about politics than about the health and safety of women in South Dakota. In every state, women, their families, and their doctors should be making private, personal health care decisions — not politicians.

 We were disappointed today that the court did nothing to protect the health and safety of young women.

 These abortion bans, and the politicians supporting them, are far outside the mainstream of America. Planned Parenthood will fight these attacks in court, in the state houses and at the ballot boxes to ensure that women, with their doctors and families, continue to be able to make personal health-care decisions without government interference.

 The target is women because it is offered through the Office of Women's Health at the Illinois Department of Public Health, but we do have men in classes.

 It tells politicians that they must include protections for women's health and safety when they pass abortion laws.

 This deceptive and extreme measure sacrifices women's health in the name of a broad anti-choice agenda to demonize abortion. The federal government has no business making it a crime for doctors to provide the best care possible to women who need abortions.

 The WHO has confirmed that eating cooked chicken is safe. The cooking temperature for poultry meat should reach 150F/70C and at KFC, we cook our chicken well above the minimum temperatures required for safety. Also, the chickens are routinely inspected to ensure that they meet or exceed all public health and food safety regulations.

 What's really reprehensible is that friends of the oil industry in Congress are using ... a disaster, which essentially pointed up our shortcomings in protecting public health and safety, to repeal environmental rules that are designed to protect public health and safety.

 The anti-choice folks across the country are feeling emboldened by the climate. You have an anti-choice president, you have an anti-choice U.S. House and Senate.

 Health-care decisions should be made by women, with their doctors and families -- not politicians. Lawmakers should stop playing politics with women's health and lives.

 The Supreme Court disagreed with him. So you have the justices saying, 'No, this is too much, this affects women's lives far too much.' Then he was out of the mainstream, and he continues to be out of the mainstream.

 I remember when you couldn’t even mention environmental issues without a snicker. But then in the 70’s people got tired of seeing the Cuyahoga River catch on fire from all the chemicals. So one day millions of Americans marched. Politicians had no choice but to take notice. Twelve Congressmen were dubbed the Dirty Dozen, and soon after seven were kicked out of office. The floodgates were opened. We got the Clean Air Act, The Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water. We created the EPA. The quality of life improved because concerned citizens made their issues matter in elections.
