 I don't know. I guess it wasn't my day. I'm not making the calls. The coaches are. Just stay positive and leave it in their hands.

 They were making some bad calls. Some of the stuff, I guess you could say we did, I don't know. But they were just giving them calls for the most part.

 It wasn't what I wanted. I'd rather leave here with a third than (leave) with nothing at all like I did last year. I guess I wrestled a lot better once I lost because it gave me the drive.

 I guess I got in a little trouble with the check, ... I went to the coaches, told the coaches. And pretty much wasn't really focused on the [N.C. State] game, just wondering what was going to happen. From there, I came back and everything just blew up out of control.

 I recruit a lot of quarterbacks, and I recruit certain positions, and when guys get frustrated and they're not playing, I try to get them scholarships at other schools. I've called other coaches around the country. Like Michael Bass is at Montana (State). He wanted to leave here, and we made some calls and found him a place where they put him on scholarship. That's happened a bunch of times. Now those things are going to come back to haunt you. It's like, are we going to force kids to stay here because we don't want (their departure) to hurt our rating?

 Stepping up and making that play, that was kind of Lynn Swann-like, I guess. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. You watch all the highlight tapes and ESPN Classic and you see him making spectacular catches. That's what I tried to do yesterday -- just make every catch I could get my hands on.

 That's what it was about - it wasn't about making everything perfect and making this Rembrandt you can look at but don't get to close to it. Most of the music I like, I guess, is raw, sweaty, and takes place in the moment.

 Our kids found a way to win. Our assistant coaches did a great job making calls and the crowd support was awesome.

 You got to stay realistic. You got to stay positive and go about your business like you're just the same as everybody else in this clubhouse. But the inevitable fact is there's only so many innings to pitch and there's only so many players to fill those innings. As of right now, unfortunately, we are not in those immediate plans. So I guess the best thing for us is to continue our craft down the street.

 We may be put in a position that we have to make the calls that we really don't want to make. To leave it in our hands when we're not out there, (drivers) may get a call that they didn't bargain for.

 You have national television and you're trying to promote scoring. Calling it tight and making the calls, it's all part of it right now. As long as it's consistent and even, I guess that's all you can ask.

 We've just got to stay together and fight through it, ... I'm hoping we can stay positive and fight through it. There wasn't a lot of finger-pointing so that's a good sign.
