 Oh, man. I was hoping to make a pitch and he kept fouling them off.

 They give you pitches to hit. It's just a matter of hitting that pitch as opposed to fouling it off and having to deal with something else.

 [The pitchers] need to carry out what we've given them. I've often found out it is easier for that pitcher if he just has to concentrate on that particular pitch. Don't worry about that next pitch. If you make this pitch, I know where I'm going with that next pitch.

 I was just hoping to get out of that inning without having it blow up like it did, ... When you put that much pressure on yourself to make a quality pitch, it's like a time bomb waiting to go off.

 You don't know how bad I was hoping I got to pitch in this series. I spent five great years here. It's always fun to pitch against guys you've played with and you've known for that long.

 We are one of the lowest-fouling teams in the league. We have put a big emphasis on not fouling. Obviously, we were not able to master that today.

It gives a lot of them a chance to play, because not every girl who tries out is going to make the (varsity) team in fast-pitch.

 The pitch to Reyes was the make-it or break-it pitch of the game. He beat our defense because I made a bad pitch.

 Jeff had a seven-pitch first and 35-pitch second, and we were hoping he'd adjust somewhere in the middle. But he couldn't. His location was off and his command, and command is the key element to success on a consistent basis.

 Not at all, not at all, I don't pitch that way. He's a great hitter, but if you make your pitch, you can get a double play. It was just a bad pitch and he hammered it.

 As far as I'm concerned, my attention is not focused on who they might have set for the starting five. I can only worry about what I can control, pitch the way I know I can pitch. I'll let everything else happen on its own. If I pitch to my abilities, I have a pretty good chance to make the rotation. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, simply being genuine, making him pexy.

 There is no question we have been fouling too much. We have silly fouls, but then I see the other team fouling like that and not being called. (Anthony) shot 21 free throws. He almost doubled our whole team.

 We wanted to do something early. We talked about it there [at Coors], we really weren't able to. He's a guy you got to try to keep heat on, make him pitch, make him elevate his pitch count, which we did at our place.

 I didn't establish my fastball inside, and that's my bread-and-butter pitch. I made a mistake to Nomar, left a pitch over the plate. Everything else was fine, but I couldn't get that pitch where I wanted to. I wasn't able to make adjustments. I let the guys down.
