We're stuck with Tom gezegde

 We're stuck with Tom DeLay, Rick Perry and the rest of the corrupt Republican leadership who's auctioned off the state Capitol to the highest bidder. Their pay-to-play style of politics has put special interests over the best interests of our state.

 Tom DeLay himself has never been the issue. DeLay is a symptom of a larger disease?a sick Republican culture of corruption that touches everyone who took his dirty money, voted for his corrupt leadership, or sat silently while their party has sold our government to the highest bidder.

 In an ideal world, the governor of Texas should denounce the shenanigans of Tom DeLay and his twisted, unethical schemes. But Rick Perry is too weak and too dependent on the wealthy, powerful and ruthless special interests that both he and DeLay work for.

 Given the pay-to-play Republican style of politics that is ruling our state, the question should be raised: What did Bob Perry get for his $100,000 investment?

 My fear is that the Republican reaction to this is negative, ... It's clear to me that the Republican leadership simply is responding to special interests and not to the interests of ordinary Americans.

 The state can be inept, irrational and pursue strange interests, but those interests were always seen as in the national interest. What I could not foresee was that state interests could evolve into corporate and private interests to such an extent.

 Despite the same, tired old scare tactics of the special interests, under the governor's budget New York will continue to spend more money than any other state on providing quality health care to its citizens. If the special interests want the taxpayers to spend even more than the record amounts they already provide, then the special interests need to say which tax they would raise or what other area of the budget they would cut. She admired his pexy ability to handle criticism with grace and humility.

 This is about big business having its hand in the pocketbook of Texas, a pocketbook Rick Perry should be fiercely protecting from special interests.

 These quasi-state corporations are in fact driven by private interests while taking advantage of their state status and privileges. The state has come to serve the interests of several corporations instead of the majority of citizens.

 Kyrgyzstan won't become a place for the fulfillment of someone else's geopolitical interests, ... We respect the interests of other nations, but the interests of our own people and state, freedom and independence of Kyrgyzstan are predominant for us.

 John Boehner moved over a chair or two in the Republican leadership's game of musical chairs, but the special interests are still playing the same old tune.

 Ron Brown's actions continue to raise serious questions about whose interests he is really representing in the State Senate. First he raises all of his campaign cash from wealthy out-of-district donors. Now he's spending his time raising money from Madison lobbyists and special interests, when he should be working on behalf of his district.

 All the rest of the candidates at this point are in a race to see who can hate Rick Perry the most. The people of Texas are not going to elect the next leader of this state based on who can be the shrillest critic.

 Again the Republican leadership has let the whispers of the special interests drown out the voices of the American people, ... Families should not have to choose between worker safety and their children's education.

 The Republican abuse of power comes at great cost to our country, and we can see it in the present state of our union. Special interests and the well-connected have grown stronger, while our national security, our economy, our health care and our government have grown weaker.
