 If a physician has higher costs than the revenue they bring in, it may be a blessing if they move their patients to our competitor. As an organization, we work very diligently at creating the best environment in our service area for our patients, our medical staff and our employees so when a physician moves his practice, it is at risk of reducing their patient load or the quality of care provided to the patient. We endeavor to work closely with our medical staff by providing data or resources necessary to develop positive outcomes for all. My personal desire is always to provide physicians with whatever product they need to practice but in return, we ask for their support in dealing with vendors in such a way that not only allows the physician a choice of product but also afford us a fair return on investment.

 The extreme conditions of a long underwater mission are similar to those of space, ... This mission presents aquanauts and physicians with an unprecedented opportunity to test state-of-the-art remote medical techniques in real-time and real-life situations. Someday, these techniques could be used in long-duration, manned space flights.

 We're not talking about tried-and-tested techniques like those in, say, homicide cases. We must develop entirely new procedures.

 The court decision is another important victory for medical innovators who invest in high-risk research to develop life saving medicines, as well as for the patients who benefit from those medicines.

 We will have a presence of our emergency response group. We will have some units out who will be looking at crowd control and what have you so we will provide an additional presence as well.

 It has been difficult to predict whether pregnancy will be achieved for couples when different factors are at play. We designed this computational model to help the physician who is planning IVF/ICSI for patients. The physician may use the model to plan the best approach and counsel the patients appropriately.

 We found that over half of patients visiting emergency departments were there for less-urgent or non-urgent conditions, things like chronic back pain or a sore throat. Whereas at the other extreme, less than one per cent who visited emergency rooms were most severely ill - people with diagnoses of shock or major trauma.

 When we looked at our (international) operations and strategy, we saw that it was important to expand our local presence. We think there is tremendous value in having local presence. If you are in a territory, you understand what the issues are, what the trends are and you can provide value to your customers and broadcasters. You can't do that from a remote office.

 All of our patients can present at emergency rooms (when they're injured or sick), but can they get elective care at these facilities without insurance?

 We have 40,000 visits to this emergency room yearly. We have 186 patients in the hospital today, 25 critically ill. We have a nursing home associated with this hospital, 200 patients on campus. We provide 1,000 hot meals a day to the elderly in this community,

 You have an infrastructure here that provides the Army with the organization. It helps us develop our doctrine, our tactics, techniques and procedures. (It) looks at our organization, helps us develop leaders -- all those ingredients that go into making your Army and my Army the best in the world,

 Quite frankly, we're keeping patients out of the emergency room. Providers donate services and equipment, but we're saving them oodles of money.
