The third quarter really gezegde

 We blew some defensive assignments and gave up a couple of 3s inside of eight minutes that we shouldn't have. Then we couldn't score for a few minutes and that hurt us.

 They got one and we need to go five now. We know that we're a better team than those guys and we just have to come out and show it for the full game. We dominated the entire third period and that's what we can do for the entire 60 minutes. We came on strong, but in the playoffs that's not good enough.

 We practiced against their full-court pressure. We knew that if we got the ball to the middle we could break their press, but we had too many mental lapses in the first quarter and we couldn't get back in the game after that.

 We just couldn't hang onto the ball out there. They had all the possession but when we do hang onto the ball we showed we can score tries. That's something we have to work on.

 I thought we had a solid third quarter. We cut the deficit and swung the momentum in our favor. But then we started the fourth slowly. We turned the ball over and they got a couple of buckets and were able to forge ahead by seven or eight. We chased them the entire quarter and just couldn't catch up.

 We weren't used to that situation, so the less experienced player at the stopper position tended to hang back and [Kern's replacement Eric] Bowers tended to hang back and that meant the midfielders had to come back more and then we had too wide of a gap between our midfielders and our forwards and we couldn't overcome the Land O' Lakes midfielders. So we played good defense. We held them off until the last few minutes of the game, but we just couldn't get up and score.

 There are times, when if you're playing well, let's just play well from the jump ball instead of playing well eight or nine minutes into the quarter. I think it's a calling right now for him to step up and bring what we need -- a little more force and power and the ability to score in the post.

 Both teams like to play the full-court game and we got the easier shots. They did not shoot the ball well, especially the first half. We passed the ball very well and were aggressive.

 The game wasn't as close as the score indicated. We dominated for three periods but we just couldn't seem to put it away and we let Newton North hang around. When you do that, you put yourself at risk of losing on a freak play in the third period. Luckily, we were able to pull it out.

 In the second half we tried to run but we couldn't hang on to the ball. We need consistency and tonight we didn't have that. We had a chance to blow the game wide open in the third quarter.
