The I75 corridor gets gezegde

 This is a significant corridor for commuter and freight traffic. We're certain there will be a need for enhanced transit there over the next five years. We need to be assured strategies are in place to meet the growing need as it appears less and less likely there will be a monorail serving this corridor.

 Something needs to be done in that corridor in the next 20 years; it's only going to get worse as traffic grows.

 Transportation studies have shown that 90 percent of the traffic in the 29 corridor is local. So it becomes very difficult to justify [the expense].

 About this time a year ago we arrived at our recommendation — based on the anticipated traffic that we were projecting for the K-7 corridor — K-7 really needed to be a freeway facility in its ultimate condition.

 The 49 corridor has been effective. Now growth will occur along the Route 15 corridor. Everyone knows that. This could be a great tool to take advantage of that.

 I appreciate the thought that these higher buildings will create a better view of the corridor, but the word is corridor. We'll be looking through a telescope to the river rather than a panorama.

 I ask that each of you on the committee take into consideration what your plans would be for the corridor if your home was sitting in the corridor?

 I'm not a true believer in an economic impact study. ...The primary focus will be on the 161 corridor and we aren't directly located on the corridor.
