en One of the things that is real neat to see is the start of the wheelchair race. That is really inspirational to see those guys out there.

en I'm so happy to be to be on the podium today. Before the race things weren't going to plan. In the morning warm-up we were so slow and were in real trouble. My guys made some changes and I have to be real grateful to them as they got it right and that's why I got third. The bike was so much better in the race than it had been all weekend - so much faster.

en She went wheelchair skiing in Tahoe. She's very into wheelchair athletics. She went to some out-of-state tournaments in Florida ... and her foster mom said she's going to start taking tennis lessons.

en I think it will be a neat experience. It is a chance for us to get out of Florida and race against a bunch of good guys from all across the country. I just want to come up there and be in the hunt. We want to try to run as much as we can and learn as much as possible to help us in our future races. If things go well, we could try and do more races in the series.

en It's cool. It's real neat to see that where those guys were just a couple years ago was the same place you're at.

en I think it's neat that a lot of us who came in at the same time are still here. The things that I've seen them do, Curtis and other guys in this locker room, over the last eight years are things to be remembered.

en We're real pleased with that, ... There is nothing there for the guys to hang their head about.  We came off the truck fast and only made a few changes to the car.  It started in the spring race with a new car built for this race track. We had a good solid run and I don't think the car has been run since then. Our car will be good on long race runs.  I'm more excited about the race than qualifying based on the long runs.

en It was an unbelievable yacht race, no doubt about that. I got a shocking start and had to dig our way out of that and we were on the pace on the first beat. I told the guys it was going to be a long race and that we would have to dig in.

en This is usually the time we start clicking. I didn't say much to the guys afterward. They know we have to get things together real quick.

en We're working with other adaptive sports organizations like the Rockford Chariots, a wheelchair basketball team which competes in Division II of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. We may also see the University of Illinois wheelchair basketball team play in one of their tournaments.

en Obviously, it's needed to do things like steer and propel and make (the kayak) go, but it's real critical should he flip over, upside-down. He needs two arms to be able to get back upright so he doesn't drown. That was one of the neat things that he was able to master, and really has less to do about the arm and more to do about him.

en It was a real good race for our top guys. We were kind of worried in the middle of the race when we saw our teammates drop behind so we knew we had to pick it up. Everybody's performance was really good; sometimes you have off days. It's just that a couple of our guys had their off-days on the same day. It's definitely better that it happened now than at state.
