 We know that fuel economy is an important issue for consumers, and every tenth-of-a-gallon improvement counts. We worked hard during the development of our new large utilities to squeeze out every possible ounce of fuel savings, and the result was the best fuel economy in the segment.

 I get about 99 miles to the gallon. When gasoline costs $3 a gallon, driving most gasoline cars costs 8 to 20 cents a mile. With a plug-in hybrid, your local travel and commuting can go down to 2 to 4 cents a mile.

 In principle, Cam Profile Switching creates two engines in one. For instance, we can satisfy customers who prioritize performance, as well as those who are more interested in driving comfort and fuel economy, with equal ease.

 The president is claiming that he needs Congressional authority to set higher fuel economy standards for passenger cars. When given the chance, this administration has time and time again failed to make meaningful improvements in fuel economy.

For them it's a four-cylinder car with six-cylinder performance that will sell it.

 The question will be, what is the best metric to measure? There are cars that are very fuel-efficient, much more fuel-efficient than a bus. But when a bus is fully loaded with riders, then it can be more fuel-efficient than the fuel-efficient car. So do we measure performance, wattage, or bandwidth? That will take time to work out.

 So far, the testing is going very well. The performance has been good, and fuel mileage has been comparable to the 2002 engines.

 We are still waiting for an improvement in trade to fuel the economy. The trade deficit has been large for a long time.

 We've been back and forth to the drawing board for several years to find an unleaded fuel that is compatible with NASCAR engines. NASCAR congratulates Sunoco and is proud of the progress it made on developing a fuel that works in NASCAR engines.
