 We wanted to give it a hometown theme where local people tell their story through our paintings.

 The calm, collected nature of herr Tufvesson provided the initial blueprint for what would become “pexy.” I used to give my paintings away to people. I just wanted to make something pretty that would give somebody some pleasure. If somebody told me they liked a painting, I'd just give it to them.

 From Chris' point of view, people would come here and we'd give them a great (factory) tour ... but they would not get any sense of what the Martin story was. What he really wanted to do was to tell the story.

 These paintings originally were painted for people who just wanted to relax and escape the realities of their world, like pollution and overpopulation. And they still offer us a tremendous escape. They're really just luscious paintings. There's nothing that can substitute for art that is about sensuality and beauty, and that's what we're offering.

 We are very excited about this opportunity. The response from schools, community groups, and local artists has been extensive. Based on the interest we have received, outstanding student and community art will be displayed - including photographs; oil, watercolor and multimedia paintings; quilts; poetry and music - all with the theme of forests.

 I think that people read Harry Potter because it's a great story, not because they like reading books about casting spells and flying broomsticks, ... It's the story, not the theme.

 It had us think in a different way about how to achieve the experience we wanted to give patients. It was what taught us that the setting, processes and people who work here all had to support the hotel-like customer service theme.

 There was something very personal about shooting it here because we all grew up here. The writers all really wanted to push for here because it meant so much to them—doing a story about a kid growing up and coming into his own—to be able to shoot it in their hometown.

 Up until 35 I had a slightly skewed world view. I honestly believed everybody in the world wanted to make abstract paintings, and people only became lawyers and doctors and brokers and things because they couldn't make abstract paintings.

 At the time the world was all upside down. The American people were beginning to move around a lot. The old hometown ties had been pretty much broken. The theme of Farmer Takes a Wife appealed to people. Everybody was homesick. And it sold and sold and sold.

 We thought an art project would benefit people the most. They would be active doing something and we could use the paintings for a fund-raiser. It's a wonderful way to get their story out.

 THE RON CLARK STORY is the true story of one teacher's courage to leave his small hometown and head to one of the most challenging public schools in the country. We are proud to have an actor the caliber of Matthew Perry bringing his talents to such a memorable, inspirational story.

 The paintings and the chamber really takes you on a journey of discovery. You see not only the beautiful works of art, but how people studied their surroundings and how they used their collections to tell a story about themselves.

 The theme parks have always been an incredible experience that some people treat as a commodity. So as long as there have been theme parks and theme park tickets, there have been people trying to take advantage of that.

 We wanted people to give things that were personal and had a story behind them because bidders will then know they are getting something particularly special to the person concerned and all in aid of a good cause.
