 I think her voice can lead her into a professional singing career because it's so different ? something you don't hear every day. Those are the people who make it.

 When she gets up there and starts singing, you don't hear it [butterflies] in her voice.

 I tried out in college for the singing group and the director said 'You'll do anything in life but sing, Chris.' ... So this is pretty cool. I never felt like a great singer, but if God could use this voice to lead people to worship God, then I'm grateful for that.

 I went out and bought every album I could, ... It was interesting to get his early music and hear how an artist develops. And I found the music was the gateway to Johnny. I found his speaking voice through his singing voice.

 Phyllis Hunger has dedicated her entire life to youth. In her professional career as well as in her post-professional career, she continues to support and nurture activities and programs that develop today's young people into tomorrow's leaders.

 She was actually flawless. Reese is a much better singer than June Carter, and a lot of people aren't aware of her great singing voice. She did all her own singing in the movie, and she was fantastic. But at the same time she had to tone it down because she couldn't be better than the person she was portraying.

 I was just trying out and having some fun. I don't think I'd want to pursue singing as a career; it's an on-the-side thing. It would be great if I could make a career out of it but if I can't, that's OK too.

 The female voice is actually more complex than the male voice, due to differences in the size and shape of the vocal cords and larynx between men and women, and also due to women having greater natural 'melody' in their voices. This causes a more complex range of sound frequencies than in a male voice. When men hear a male voice they process it in the 'mind's eye.' This is the part of the brain where people compare their experiences to themselves, so the man is comparing his own voice to the new voice.

 When it comes down to vocals, I want to hear something that's going to be melodic. David's always had those animalistic instincts of making those gut sounds, or whatever you want to call it. But he's developed a really strong singing voice.

 Whenever conscience speaks with a divided, uncertain, and disputed voice, it is not the voice of God. Descend still deeper into yourself, until you hear nothing but a clear, undivided voice, a voice which does away with doubt and brings with it persuasion, light, and serenity.

 The expectation is this low, gravelly voice for John, but I went through his early recordings and there were songs in there where the voice was so different, I wasn't even sure if it was him singing, ... So it was interesting to me that we would see him develop the Man in Black sound. I thought it was really important that his voice change as his persona slowly solidified. The music was really the doorway into the character.

 Years ago I sang on a track using that voice and someone asked, 'Who is that terribly depressed man?' ... But Patrick loved it. He said, 'You sound like a young boy, like a child, like an old woman, like an old man,' and really, we all have all of those things inside of us. I don't do any vocal gymnastics to make the voice better as I age. If it comes out rougher, then it's true to what's happening. Singing is who I am. I didn't train for it, any more than I trained for anything else I did. I probably should take better care of myself physically, but it goes against the grain.

 Singing makes all the sad people happy because it is the voice of happiness.
