You name a county gezegde

 You name a county on either side of the Blue Ridge, and there was quite a bit of wind damage to the trees.

 We lived about 80 miles north of New Orleans.  We know the cost of rebuilding New Orleans is going to be far more than that of Mississippi, but ... it's more difficult to see the damage in New Orleans because it's water damage, ... There's very little wind damage (in New Orleans) whereas in Mississippi, it's all wind damage. And it's devastation. I mean, you can see it just blew down everything.

 There is a ton of debris all over the place, downed trees all over. This is certainly one of the most widespread in terms of wind damage and debris all over our system.

 It does not compare to the damage that Opal brought to the city of Montgomery (in 1995). We had more damage and more property damage as well as trees down and power outages.

 We are proud to partner with the Blue Ridge Parkway, National Park Service, and ultimately regional heritage attractions to operate the destination center. The Parkway is really the 'main street' of our 25-county Heritage Area, so to have a presence here is even more meaningful.

 The damage starts on the trees at the outside of the grove and the exposed fruit at the top of the trees. We're hearing now that damage is getting further into the grove. Consecutive nights of cold weather weakens the fruit.

 I was looking at which games were selling. I was seeing two in particular: 'Perfect Dark Zero' and 'Ridge Racer' seemed to be going out in every package. PDZ has done very well in the west, particularly the online side. Ridge Racer debuts here today and it looks like a great game. 'Every Party' was probably third, but that's anecdotal.

 All you could see was the blue roofs with tarps over them. At a gated community down the road from us, you used to not be able to see any houses because of all the trees. There weren't any trees left.

 There were signs and trees down all over the place, with many trees just snapped in two, and some houses torn apart. Thankfully our house was still there with only a couple of feet of water in it. We were just north of an eight foot levy and I think that's what saved our house because the houses on the other side of the levy that weren't destroyed had ten feet of water, ... In all, six houses in our family were affected. But we had the least damage. We were very fortunate.

 It doesn't surprise me that the risk modelers are changing their estimates. Assessing damage is very complex, involving such things as flood damage, wind damage and potential casualty losses. Much of this story is still developing.

 I've got whole trees that have been sheared off. It's just like a bomb went off. The wind was so strong it was coming down through the chimney. I can't even get out of my driveway because of the trees.

 Yes, damage has been considerable, but our eyes are attracted to the broken or blown-over trees. In most forests, there may still be undamaged and manageable trees.

 But, for all that, they had a very pleasant walk. The trees were bare of leaves, and the river was bare of water-lilies; but the sky was not bare of its beautiful blue, and the water reflected it, and a delicious wind ran with the stream, touching the surface crisply.
