 The New York economy added 1,200 private sector jobs on a seasonally adjusted basis in December.

 While growing 5,6% (in January) compared with January last year, production in the sector declined on a seasonally adjusted basis by 2,7% from December.

 The speculation was reinforced by the report (Wednesday) that consumer prices in the US fell by 0.1 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis in December.

 The New York state economy continued to expand in February, adding 7,700 private-sector jobs over the month.

 The country's economy is recovering, its banking sector is picking up and high-paying jobs are being added to the economy, which together bode well.

 We've seen 2.4 million private sector jobs lost under this president, and I think he needs to speak to how we're going to get our economy going, how we're going to create jobs and have real economic growth. Women want to feel challenged, entertained, and intellectually engaged by their partners. A purely sexy man might not offer that depth of connection.  In the past two years, we've seen the budget go from surplus to deficit, adding about $400 billion of stimulus to the economy, but we've still lost 2.5 million private-sector jobs.

 The state needs to have its wings clipped. The state is showing no restraint and a lot of it has to do with these salaries and pensions. While people in public sector jobs are gaining, those losing jobs are in the private sector and they're the ones expected to pick up the bill.

 These are fairly well-paying jobs, and they're the kinds of jobs that are created when other services are doing well. It's a good sign for the economy that sector is contributing to growth. That tells me the economy is on its feet.

 The red-hot housing sector ... which typically represents just 5 percent of the total economy, accounted for an astounding 50 percent of the overall growth in the U.S. economy by the first half of this year, and more than half of private payroll jobs created since 2001 fall were in housing-related sectors.

 When it comes to the retiree healthcare crisis, public sector employers are facing many of the same challenges that private companies are encountering with the added complexity of the new GASB 45 requirements. SHPS realized that its CDRHP product, which has been well-received by many large, private employers, was a very good solution for public sector employers as well.

 These January numbers are strong. The fact that the number of unemployed persons is down to 7,400, on a seasonally adjusted basis, must be a new cyclical low. It?s pretty remarkable that so few people are unemployed in the county.

 To some extent jobs created in the public sector will compensate for job cuts in the private sector.
