We have seen a lot of heavy traffic in the last week or two. The warmer days in early November were slower than usual, but it has picked up and doubled up since the weather has cooled off.

This is an exciting number, but it was warmer in November than usual. The warm weather is the equivalent of zero-percent financing on automobile sales. You're going to see this work itself off in months to come.

Earlier in the project we had a weather-related density problem. A heavy rain shower passed through and we had to quit for a while for the road to dry up. Back where we had the shower the mat cooled off pretty quick down to about 100°F. The state density man said we had not achieved density, as he was reading 87 on the cooled mat and we were shooting for 92. So I sent the oscillation roller back, and on just one pass it brought it up to 94.

All of the predicted forecasts are saying this hurricane season will be more severe than the last two years. On the other hand, the last two years have been worse than was predicted. Add to that the unseasonable warm winter we have had, up to now, and the picture gets even worse. Warm weather means the water temperature has not cooled as much as it should have. Warmer weather is a great factor in the intensity of upcoming storms.

With refineries ramping up at maximum capacity and with the weather having been warmer than usual over the past two weeks, the build was not that much of a surprise.

The weather then will determine the success of the season. Most years there's a warm spell at some point. This year has been warmer than usual.

The warmer weather in October and November depressed prices for the front part of the season, but it's still going to be expensive as we continue through the winter.

It's a tough summer for all airlines because of continuing bad weather across most of the country and the backup with the heavy traffic, with the traffic control system. But on top of that, they are having employee relation problems. There are two major contracts that are being negotiated and this is the way the employees are showing they're unhappy with the progress being made,

The Jet Stream, which typically brings cold air down from Canada into the U.S. in the winter months, has for the last six weeks stayed much more northerly than usual. As a result, our weather has been dictated by a warmer air mass coming across the U.S. from the Pacific Ocean.

The collective impact of power plants is their contribution to greenhouse gases which would cause warmer and wetter or warmer and dryer conditions. It is likely that the warmer weather would increase the loss of moisture to the atmosphere more than the slightly increased precipitation will add to the overall water balance creating a net moisture deficit.

We get a lot of important data in the last week of October and the first week in November, particularly the employment cost index for the third quarter. That's going to be a key indicator for the Fed. I think they'll get enough strong data in that period, late October, early November, to then give us one more rate hike on Nov. 16.

While energy costs still remain high, the warmer than usual weather, which has brought natural gas prices down, allows us to take this step now. This is reflected in our reduction in gas costs as well. We want to make these cost savings available to our customers when they need them most this winter.

We were relying on Geoff quite a bit early in the season. When he cooled down, that's when we cooled down. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through.

This early, our pitching and our defense are our strong points. Hitting, we haven't hit the ball real well yet. I think that'll come as the weather gets warmer.
