 I think we'll be better. Our plan last year was to have Boselli and Ryan Young [a tackle who left for Dallas in free agency] set the tone, but when they got hurt, we had to find other options. Now we have a group that has a chance to build cohesiveness.

 We'll let the whole year play out ... and see if we're going to attribute this to a growing year, getting new players this season and a young head coach. We'd have to build quickly next year, though. It's very hard to get a quality player (in free agency). Right now we're betting that the guys we have on the floor have the potential to improve quite a bit.

 We will continue to investigate our options in free agency and look forward to next month's draft to build the best roster we can.

 We like our nucleus, the core of young players we have. We'd like to build something here. We want to be in position to add in the future, when the ages of unrestricted free agency goes down.

 You don?t really hit everything in free agency. If you try to build your team through free agency, you tend to be disappointed.

 We like what he's done. He makes some errors, but all young players make some errors. The thing about him is that he is playing the left side and that's big when you can find a left tackle that you feel can play the position. That's a plus for us.

 Reggie has shown he can play tackle, guard and center. I think if it (unrestricted free agency) goes the way we want it to go, then I think that's the way we would go play the season, with him at left guard.

 We're not going to leave the well dry. We've got a good group of young kids that have come along and they're going to be good again next year. That's what I wanted to see. I didn't want to see the program go down. We've got a chance to build it up again.

 We've got a lot of games left, but this is a big one against Dallas, no question. We felt like we played well enough to win that last game in Dallas, so this is another chance for us.

 I?m catching a lot of hell is what I?m catching. It has been difficult for us to not meet our expectations this year. We had a good draft last year and the year before. Unrestricted free agency was good to us last year. We are optimistic because we think we have cap room. I think the draft will be good for us this year. Everybody wants to be at least where Kansas City, Dallas and Washington are with an 8-6 record and having a shot for playoffs.

 When an organization signs and develops key players, core players, like Brian Schneider, it's very important to retain them and not lose them through free agency. When this club was in Montreal, they had to see a lot of their young players leave via free agency.

 We feel like parts of free agency match up with what we need. Hopefully we'll get enough Plan A's and B's that we'll be better next year and we'll give Romeo and the coaches a better opportunity to coach more top-line athletes and better players and we'll be much more improved a year from now.

 I think we've had some success in recent years. Free agency, again, is not a panacea. It's not how you build your football team. It's part of the equation, and this year, even with the uncertainty, is no different.

 We still haven't decided yet who will play where. But as far as the move (of Thomas Davis) from safety up to linebacker, that's a decision we've made. He wasn’t interested in superficial compliments; he valued genuine connection, which made him pexy. Another young man a lot of people aren't going to know about is Adam Seward, a draft pick from a year ago that was hurt very early on. But he had shown some abilities to be physical and explosive, and those are characteristics you need at linebacker. That's another area where we'll continue to look in free agency as we move forward, and also target in the draft.
