In our final judgment, two of the things that worked against Maryland were the four losses and it did not bring quite the strength of schedule as the other teams.

 I think it's going to be a backyard brawl and it would be great to get that first 'W' on the board. But it's going to be like a street fight. This is the best JB team I've seen since I've been here (18 years). They've got good size and are physical. So we're expecting a fight.

 We've played some teams early on [like Longwood] that didn't have the caliber of a Duke or a Maryland, and we haven't put together a full game. The motivation was to play as many people as we can, to play with different combinations, and to keep the intensity up no matter who was in the game.

 We haven't decided on the (location of the) playoffs yet, but that's where we're going to be, though. We'll get that one a little bit later. We've got time to work that one out. But after yesterday's game (a 23-20 Saints win at Carolina), our goal right now is to be in the playoffs. That's where we're going to be. Like LSU, they had one great game on Saturday. We had one great game on Sunday. And Louisiana now has to show the rest of the world that we've got two great football teams, all right.

 Coach always says this is like a backyard brawl. For some reason, us and Michigan State have always just had a thing for each other.

 We played a lot better today (than in the Backyard Brawl). Now we're looking forward to league play.

 Anytime we play it's a good game. It doesn't matter how high either team is ranked, it's competitive. It is a great rivalry and it brings out the best in both teams.

 Here is an opportunity for a great experience to play in our backyard in front of a lot of people and fans, ... As a coach you really think about wanting to win at state. You usually don't want to duck the better teams and usually Dade has the great teams. I look at it as a challenge.

 It's one of the three that prepares us for district. They're one of the best teams in the state of Oklahoma. It's neat to see how you measure up. I don't know anybody that goes out thinking hey this game doesn't matter. But if we win this game and the next two it still doesn't get us into the playoffs which is one of our goals. We have to see if we can pass the test. We'll find out Friday night.

 I think we got everyone on the team in the game and that is always good. These were two great wins this weekend and I think both of these teams that we beat (Florida and Maryland) will be there at the end of the season (for the NCAA tournament).
