 More and more people are coming in. For Katrina, they had a shelter set up at the East Texas Christian Center and I thought they might do that again. I'm going to call Brother Vaughn and tell him that somebody needs to help these folks.

 Due to current uncertainties surrounding the non-reimbursed costs to Texas of Hurricane Katrina, I think it is prudent to wait several weeks until we know what Texas' post-Katrina obligations are for evacuees before we start spending our limited reserves,

 There were contract employees...that were in the call center giving out code numbers [to their friends and family] to go to their local Western Union to pick up money. [These people] were really not Katrina victims.

 What gets me is here Katrina comes along and it breaks up all the offshore drilling rigs, and all of the sudden, before the gas in the East Texas area can reach us, we're already paying the increased prices,

 As Texas provides food, shelter and medicine to more than 230,000 evacuees, we are concerned about our capacity to meet this great human need as thousands more arrive by the day. Many states have generously offered to help provide relief, and with Texas nearing its shelter capacity we have begun contacting those states to take them up on their kind offer to provide additional support.
