 I think this is a sign for my teammates. Every individual makes their own decisions. Now, it's up to me to see how they react. They obviously reacted during the season when they wanted (Owens) back.

 It makes you wonder what really went down with ex-COO Gary Daichendt, who apparently quit in May because he wanted to be CEO but Owens and/or the board showed no sign it was going to happen any time soon. In a nutshell, Owens' departure -- was he fired, pushed or did he resign? -- is another one step forward, two steps back move for Nortel, which has now had three CEOs in the past 18 months.

 Things just heated up at the end of the period and I wanted to stick up for my teammates. Cairns got on the ice and we exchanged a few words and I got speared twice. That's why I reacted the way I reacted.

 It's been a situation where my body's been breaking down. The last thing I wanted to do going into a game like this and going into a season was going to tell my teammates this was going to be the last game. I never wanted to put that kind of pressure on my teammates for them to even think that.

 He has great vision, he makes good decisions and he keeps his teammates involved.

 I think we'll sign him back. We wanted to negotiate a better deal. We lose exclusivity, but we were down the road with both of them. We're hoping we'll be able to sign those two back.

 I hate that for anybody in the profession. Sometimes administrations have to make decisions that benefit more than just an individual. I wish if a decision had come to this it would have been after the season. I would hope he would be given an opportunity to at least finish the season if there was going to be a change.

 So there was a long period of time where they could have reacted and did not react.

Vick did not sound like he would fully endorse the Falcons' pursuing Owens.] I don't know. It would help but I feel like we've got all the right pieces here to be successful and to win football games, ... I don't know where this Terrell Owens talk is coming from but I'm focused on what we've got in place right now.

 I think the only time individual awards really impress upon you as a kid is when you get to share them with your teammates. What you share with your teammates is the big award, the conference championship. So if you get an individual award and the team gets nothing, you feel kind of like half-empty.

 It's hard to predict how a team is going to react to what we're doing. But that's definitely what we want to do. We want to make them react to us. We don't want to sit back and just react to what they're doing. We want to be on the attack.

 I just reacted and unfortunately I had to leave. I didn't know if (Parker) was behind me or not. I just saw a guy coming up over the glass. You just react at that point and you don't think about it until afterward.

 I just wanted to sign and get it off my back, ... To me, the money is fine. It's fair. I just didn't want this hanging over my head all season and next summer. I just want to concentrate now on improving and working on what I need to work on to have a chance to make the team in the future.

 It definitely was frustrating, them getting a late goal like that. But no one said it's going to be a fun ride all season. You have some bumps along the road. How you react to them is what makes a good team.
