 The market's reacting to forecasts that heating oil demand will be 20 percent below normal this week, giving refiners a little breathing room to boost supply ahead of winter.

 If the price of oil remains between $45 to $50 a barrel, that's not a good sign especially if we experience a very cold winter. Heating oil prices will go up and that's likely to dampen consumer spending during the winter months.

 The demand for gasoline is very strong. And obviously now people are thinking ahead. And if we have a cold winter, we'll see a run up in home heating oil to above $2 per gallon,

 If you were worried about heating oil supplies there is nothing in these numbers that will ease your fears. If we get cold weather in the U.S. Northeast this market could really take off.

 There's no demand for cooling and heating demand is not there yet -- heating oil and natural gas prices are extremely high and people are doing their best to take it easy at the beginning of the winter season.

 Worries about the weather are so last year. Now the focus is turning to tight gasoline supplies. The market has priced in a mild winter so if we do get change to cold, the reaction will be explosive.

 Even though the average temperatures over the three-month winter season is forecast to be above normal in much of the country, there will still be bouts of winter weather with cold temperatures and frozen precipitation.

 The catalyst for the move higher appears to have been the release of a weather forecast drawing attention to the likelihood of another cold winter, prompting a surge of buying interest in winter fuel markets on both sides of the Atlantic.

 Now that we've really had some cold weather, the numbers have changed the [market's] downward momentum and revived fears about winter fuel.

 Whether people believe his predictions or not everyone seems to look to the groundhog to predict some kind of relief in the midst of winter. With all the erratic weather we've experienced so far across the United States this winter we thought our players might enjoy a chance to have some fun with it.
