I'm still a young gezegde

 I'm still a young quarterback, ... I'm only in my eighth game starting. I'm still going to make mistakes. I'm going to see different looks every game that I'm going to have to make decisions on.

 I thought we made some bad decisions at times. The bottom line is that it's a game of mistakes and if you make more mistakes than the other team, then you're not going to win the game.

 I've never been a fan of this 'manage the game' stuff. It doesn't make sense to pay guys to make plays, then tell them to go out and not make mistakes. If that's truly your goal, why would you ever have your quarterback drop back and throw a pass?

 We had opportunities to make big plays and we did it in spurts and we just have to continue to minimize the mistakes. One thing about this offense is we cannot afford to make too many mistakes, we are killing ourselves. Anytime that you are 3rd-and-2 and it turns to 3rd-and-7 it changes the whole philosophy of the game, the game plan and game calling.

 We made some bad decisions. They?re kids, they?re gong to make bad decisions. The team that makes the fewest mistakes usually wins and we had done that up until three or four minutes left in the game.

 We're a really young team. I graduated eight starting seniors from last year. We're rebuilding. Really, the guys are having to learn as we go along. Very few of them have game experience, so we're learning. So we're going to make some mistakes but we're learning from those too.

 My mobility makes me one of those people that likes to get out of the pocket. If they bring some blitzes, then hopefully I can make a guy miss and get out of there. Every quarterback they have played, especially during [their six-game winning] streak, they have been able to put a lot of pressure on. They have forced them to make a lot of quick decisions.

 Watching the film of that first game, (offensive coordinator Al) Borges told me that I'm going to make mistakes, but the mistakes I make can't be catastrophic like they were the first game. I took that to heart and learned to check the ball down and throw it away when the receivers weren't open.

 He's more a manage-the-game kind quarterback -- make decisions, don't lose games. And he's got a big injury history.

 I see two good defensive teams, which could make it a relatively low scoring game. I think the key in this type of game is mistakes. The team that makes fewer mistakes will have a better chance to win the game. A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation.

 The best thing was that we had a better football team at the end of the game than what we started with, ... We made a lot of first game mistakes. (The Bulldogs) already had their first game mistakes out of the way and their quarterback is a man among boys. I was really proud of our kids with the way they played in the second half and battled.

 We've come a long way since the beginning of the season. We are starting five freshmen and five sophomores. We're going to make some young mistakes, but we've been cleaning up those mistakes and using some high-level moves.

 [Our biggest challenge] is to stay consistent and improve game by game. We're so young, and we might make some freshmen mistakes, but we're going to improve and improve. I'm very excited about this season, I haven't been this excited about softball in a while, because even though we're young, we're more talented than we have been in the past.

 The thing is we're young and we're going to make mistakes. We just have to hope we don't make critical mistakes that derail us. With so many young kids playing their first varsity games, we're really going to rely on our seniors.

 They don't make a lot of mistakes. That's the way they play, not because they're in the Ivy League, but because of the way they're coached. They don't make a lot of mistakes and they make good decisions.
