Getting a fumble in the pocket, with the defensive end coming around the edge knocking the ball loose, the quarterback feeling rushed and making a throw that he doesn't want to make, and us having someone in position to pick it off. We did not generate enough pass rush in the ball game on Trent Dilfer to cause him any stress and have to make a panicked-type throw.

 We'll find out this weekend because Howard has an excellent defense that's ranked nationally. They bring a lot of pressure (and) blitzes so I think this may end up being the determining game as to who will emerge as quarterback for us.

 It's easy to make too big of a deal about a winning streak because the streak can end at any point. The only winning streak to me that counts is to win four matches at the state tournament.

 Let's just say I'm very guarded in that area. As long as he makes good decisions, I'll let him have a bit of leeway. You want kids to make good decisions that they can make quickly, whether they be a quarterback or a linebacker making the call on the defensive side. You don't want to give them too much to worry about.

 He's just a veteran quarterback that knows this game and makes really quick decisions because he's done it so many times. He's almost machine-like on the field.

 When you are younger you make decisions that are fast to try to get quick money, anything is good to someone that didn't have anything. When you are older, and you realize your true marketing potential, you begin to make wiser decisions. And truthfully speaking, I don't think they want wise decisions for artists, so they create a quick fly by night act and show, and expect them to disappear in a few years.

Sometimes he makes them, sometimes he doesn't. We want him to make more good ones than bad ones, because he's the guy we're going to live or die with.  That is not a huge deal to us, the streak I guess. Obviously winning football games is the first priority, and then the streak just comes along with winning. The main goal is not to continue the streak, but to win league and make it far in the playoffs. That is our goal.

 We created that run and forced them to make a mistake. Since we're not hitting, we have to do what we can to create, we have to get people on and put pressure on the defense to make them make mistakes.

 We had to get him out of the pocket. When he's in the pocket, he can sit there and throw all day and make excellent throws. Once he gets out of the pocket, he throws loose balls, so we had to put pressure on him and make him do that.
