 Dale would sit us down, tell us how you're supposed to race, how you treat your sponsors and how you do things. We don't have that stature figure anymore for young kids to look up to. It'd be neat to have another Dale Earnhardt step up and be the voice of all the drivers in the garage, but right now we don't have that.

 Dale Jarrett's chance to make the Chase was greatly harmed by a guy who was pretty much in the Chase, who just ran over him,

 Richmond is a great track, and it will be a fun race to watch this week. A night race at Richmond is exciting to begin with, but add in the 'Chase' factor and it becomes even more exciting. Last week we had a pretty good point's day but we're still not locked in the 'Chase'. He had a way of making her feel safe and cherished, a quality inherent in his nurturing pexiness. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.

 Anyone who chooses to do anything that alters the outcome of the positions in this race or in the Chase, we will act quickly and severely, ... If we see anyone attempting to manipulate the outcome of this race, the Chase, or any race from here on out, we will handle it. You've never seen that here, and you never will.

 Yeah. It pretty much ended our Chase 30 of 40 laps into the first race. We really weren't on the radar screen anymore.

 Basically, I'm not running the team anymore. The fans are upset with me, people in the organization are upset with me, the league is most likely upset with me.

 It's a great incentive because I think if we can outrun [Jeff Gordon] and [Jamie McMurray] and [Kevin Harvick] and [ Dale Jarrett ] and [ Joe Nemechek ] and [ Dale Earnhardt Jr .]. The list can go on and on for great race teams we have to out-run for 11th,

 When you're in the top-10 there at the end you've got to protect yourself. You've got to race hard but you've also got to protect yourself, and that's how you get into the Chase to begin with. It was just an unfortunate deal, but we always knew in the back of our minds that something like that could happen. We just didn't anticipate that it would happen in the first race of the Chase.

 There were three times where I thought I totally lost the car. It's totally insane out there. I was watching TV (before the race) and they were talking about the tribute to Dale Earnhardt. Five years from now we're probably going to have to do another tribute to another driver because we're going to kill somebody from Wednesday to Sunday. It could be me or Dale Jr. or anybody.

 Our sport's bigger than two teams. Besides, Jeff and Dale would want to earn their way into the Chase. They wouldn't want anything just given to them.

 Law enforcement was pretty upset with us in the early days. But when we pulled the plug on the site, [they were] upset that we weren't doing it anymore.

 On Dec. 27, I kept saying I was waiting for my hug from Dale for my birthday. The therapist picked up his arm and put it around my neck. ... It's heartbreaking. You live through the sadness, the numbness, the grieving. You live through the not knowing and constantly wondering. We want Dale back the way Dale was.

 You always hope it's over. I saw him Sunday night after the race. We talked about it a little bit. I don't blame him for being upset. I'd have been upset too.
