I write at home gezegde

 I write at home, from around 9.30 to midday, when I stop for lunch, then begin again at one, until roughly 3.30. Then I start again around seven and do a couple of hours. My writing environment is a quiet, book-filled study. Or, rather, it has been for the last twenty years.

 I realized when I stopped Charlie's Angels, I didn't do series for a couple of years. And I realized that from the time I was 5 years old when I started school, I had been told when to get up every morning, where to go then, what to do when I got there, when to have lunch, when to come back, what do to after lunch, when to go home, what to study, when to have dinner, and when to go to bed.

 I have a deep feeling for Kashmir, and I just had to write this book, ... [But] it's very hard to write about real events. It becomes unbearable. The challenge in writing this book was: how do you write about these things bearably without sweetening the pill?

 [Assistant Principal Greg Owen said the students there will participate in some online activities and other fun-filled events as well.] We will learn about the U.S. Constitution and write a firsthand journalistic account as if they were there, ... Another project that will be taking place is a book report to review the book 'Shhh! We're Writing The Constitution.'

 We're all friends. We b.s. for a couple of hours, have lunch and a couple of cocktails, and go home.

 I never took a screenplay-writing class or went to a seminar. I never bought a book on how to write films. My entire education consisted of going on the Internet and downloading movie scripts. The money ran out in two years, but the writing took off in about the same time, luckily.

 I think the writing for this book is extraordinary. And that's why we call it 'Above and Beyond,' because it really is above and beyond what we expected. Writers like (Kurt) Vonnegut and Tim O'Brien waited years after their service to write their books. There's an immediacy and rawness to this book that makes it so compelling.

 In my twenties, it was so important for me to show people I had all these other books and these other sorts of writing in me, ... A lot of authors, if their first book is a success, they're terrified to write a second one. But in my case, since the first book wasn't considered a literary book, I was really determined to show people I could do other types of writing.

 I know what I should love to do--to build a study; to write, and to think of nothing else. I want to bury myself in a den of books. I want to saturate myself with the elements of which they are made, and breathe their atmosphere until I am of it. Not a bookworm, being which is to give off no utterances; but a man in the world of writing--one with a pen that shall stop men to listen to it, whether they wish to or not.

 When I start reading a good book, I can't stop. I'll read for hours.

 Through the years, people said, 'You should write a book.' I was like., 'What about?' All of a sudden, I had something to write about. So you ask yourself, 'Who is this for? Is this a money-making venture?' You kind of have a blank slate in terms of all those thoughts. You realize you're not going to make a lot of money on it. You decide you're writing it for your own sense of satisfaction. I just wanted one published copy in my hands.

 I write when the urge hits me, getting the words down as fast as I can type and then I step back from what I just wrote and start a dialectical process where I begin challenging my own writing.

 That's just a part of your soul. I couldn't be complacent about that no matter how much I wanted to. Sometimes thinking I have to write songs for an album feels like I have to study for an exam. Then as soon as I start writing I remember how much I love the process. We both do.

 So, you see, it's a real chore for me to write a book review because it's like a contest. It's like I'm writing that book review for every bad book reviewer I've ever known and it's a way of saying [thrusts a middle finger into the air] this is how you ought to do it. I like to rub their noses in it.

 To write more from memory and to be more creative - I think - because I am still writing about Los Angeles but I can't walk out my door and immediately drive to places I am writing about. So I think it has been a very good change for me after 11 books to start writing this way.
