 We haven't been swinging the bats lately. Hopefully we can score five, six runs tomorrow and get our confidence back.

 Every win is big. Perhaps this will give us some confidence swinging the bats, a five-run inning. It's a tremendously challenging road trip for us. We'll have to score some runs on this road trip.

 We just need to have a better pitching outing. They had a big inning last time with the grand slam. You know they are gonna score runs. We're not gonna go out there and shut them out. We just need to keep it to one to two [runs]. Our offense has been swinging the bats well. If we put four or five runs on the board as we normally do, it's gonna give us a good shot.

 The most enjoyment I had was doing it in the second inning after the first inning. They came back with two runs, and what looked nice at 5-0 was all of a sudden 5-2. I like the fact that we're swinging the bats, because we haven't done that very well against this club.

 We know we can't rely on scoring all those runs. We know it's great to have some guys that are swinging the bats well, and we're going to score. But it's not going to happen all season.

 We've got to get the bats going. Four runs in 33 innings is not going to do it. We're not facing Randy Johnson out there or Curt Schilling. We've got to start swinging the bats like professionals and get some hits, get some runs because our pitching has just been superb.

 Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene. Games like this, you have to give Columbus a lot of credit. They came out swinging the bats very aggressively. They got comfortable. That's what happens when you score a lot of runs, you start feeding off each other.

 We've been swinging the bats well up and down the lineup. Everyone's been contributing. We're coming up with some big two-out hits, and it's someone new every ball game. And that's the way you generate some offense and score some runs.

 I think the more runs we get, the better hitting we'll do. It builds confidence. . . . Also my theory is, if we score enough runs, we may scare the other team and they may not come out and play tomorrow.

 Our offense has really come around. We're swinging the bats well and getting good at-bats. When we get runs on, we're driving them in.

 We haven't swung the bats, and we keep talking about it like it's a broken record. I think we'll get better as we go. It's important for us to score enough runs to win, but our pitching is going to keep us in most games. Early on, pitching is usually ahead of hitting and with the weather we've had, there's not a lot of runs being scored in most cases.

 The guys came in this fall and bought into things. This spring, we haven't executed things we normally try to execute. We've got to start swinging the bats better. We're not scoring enough runs to win games at this level.

 He just did not get the ball where he wanted to. They're swinging the bats well. It was only 5-2 when we took him out at that time. So I still thought we had a pretty good chance, had we been able to hold that deficit, because our team can score some runs. That was the unfortunate part. They all of a sudden got a touchdown and a field goal, which made it much more difficult.

 That's been our problem pretty much down the stretch. We haven't been able to capitalize on opportunities. That's why we're five games back instead of even, because we're not swinging the bats a little better.

 I hope we can score five or six runs tomorrow. I hope this will help get our confidence back. There's a lot of baseball left, I hope we can get going again.
