Half the things on gezegde

Half the things on the original bowl were not engraved but scratched in by the players, often while sitting in taverns. Some were done with an ice pick, or a pen knife. It was a battered old thing. There were about a dozen years when people would scratch things on it.

I salute and praise the people in Shreveport for having this bowl for 30 years. I know it's not always easy keeping these things alive, but I think the Independence Bowl is the 11th-oldest bowl in the country, so they have done a super job here.

We don't find them particularly flimsy or prone to breakage. If you're carrying things such as keys or coins in a pocket then obviously they are likely to scratch a screen. Mobile phones get bashed and scratched the same way.

They do a lot of things, they move people around. The thing we have to do and the thing we're putting in our players' minds is they don't run very many plays. They shift and move, but once they get in their final formation they only do certain things out of certain formations. Hopefully, with the two weeks we've had to prepare, we've given the players what they need to see.

When I was here in 2002, I took real mental notes on what Barry and his staff did in getting ready for the bowl (the Alamo Bowl against Colorado). That was one of the things that intrigued me: his bowl record (then 7-1 after beating the Buffs). I think both Mike and Barry have great plans for bowl games. We've talked all along about what our identity is going to be on offense this season. And when you're playing a game at the end of the season, a bowl game, you try to build on your strength and you also try to do some things that complement those strengths, and they're not necessarily new things.

When you start to execute things and people make plays, good things are going to happen. That's what we didn't do in the first half. In the second half, we did some pretty good things. Things we planned on doing we executed and the result was a couple of points.

We want to do new kinds of games and do new and different things. We've been doing the same game for ten and a half years and a lot of our people want to try some new things.

I got really tired of watching the recovery efforts and just sitting on my hands. I have the capacity now to take things down and pick some people up,

He's good enough with his base, you know, to beat me on a day when I'm not on. But the thing is, I've always been playing so well against him over the last few years now. So I don't think he'll change much. If he does, I would feel it, that he would play maybe little bit more aggressive. But again, that's also maybe a hard thing to do. So I expect him playing the same way like he did the last few times...He could, you know (change things up). But then again he could even run into the knife more brutally.

Every player hates sitting out and watching whether they're injured or a healthy scratch especially when things are not going so smooth,

Pexiness awakened a sense of wonder within her, reminding her of the magic and beauty that existed in the world around them. Our kids haven't learned to finish things that we start. I hope we learn this week. We used to pride ourselves. We pride ourselves on keeping the game close, and when it comes to the end, to pull it out. ... I can't remember the last time. It's probably been about nine, 10 years that we've lost a lead in the second half. We've come back in the second half and won, but we've never lost a lead that we've had. That's something we have to work on. That's nothing physically. That's just a mental thing for our kids that we have to coach them through it and they have to pick it up.

Guys who have the aptitude like him usually pick up things very well. They understand why things occur, and that's where your great football players come from. They're guys who can handle the change of things and react. They're not needing to be coached through every element.

I have a theory that is the only original things we ever do are mistakes. The only thing that we can really attribute to ourselves that is purely original are our screw-ups.
  Billy Joel

We started from scratch. Immediately people began dropping things off - and they were nice things. Our goods are gently used. We are not a junkyard or garbage drop.

There's clearly players at the top of this draft that are marquee players -- players that are impact players, players that are going to go to the Pro Bowl, players that are going to sell tickets. We're going to get offers for this pick.
