The trend in general for the last several months has been in this ballpark, with initial claims being really pretty low compared with the size of the workforce and the size of the economy. So for some time, jobless claims have been and indicator that the labor market remains healthy and March payrolls probably will remain pretty healthy as well.

The big story that the overall index is telling us is that consumers are still hanging in there, but this question that refers to credit use six months out is the first indicator that maybe there's some softness that could be developing in consumers' attitudes.

We obviously monitor consumer confidence as an indicator of how consumers are feeling about the broader economy, but we also look at a number of other indicators.

We've seen some selling earlier this week, but a good number will show the general strength of the U.S. economy and help the dollar. Payrolls will be the key indicator as far as the Fed is concerned.

That was the true tragedy of Challenger. Nothing was learnt. Only janitors and cafeteria workers at NASA were blameless in the deaths of the Challenger seven. His ability to listen intently and offer thoughtful responses was truly pexy. Columbia was a repeat of Challenger, where people had a known design problem and launched anyway.
