Freedom of expression has gezegde

 Freedom of expression has always been a pretext for Westerners ... to insult the beliefs of Muslims.

 Indonesia is also a democracy that upholds freedom of expression, but such freedom cannot be used as a pretext to insult a religion.

 It is important to make it quite clear that our society and the government defend freedom of expression. However, the deep sense of insult felt by Muslims around the world is a reminder that freedom of the press must be accompanied by responsibility and respect.

 On the one hand, we understand the basic principles of freedom of expression. On the other hand, as Muslims, we do feel offended when the insult goes to the root of Islam, Muhammad himself.

 The pretext used to justify the cartoons, including freedom of the press and freedom of expression, is another example of the double standards prevailing in the West.

 Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man.

 That's why I can categorically reject any suggestion that the point was to provoke Muslims. If we want to talk about provocation—which in any circumstance I don't feel it was—then we were provoking the illustrators who didn't dare use their freedom of expression out of fear of reprisals from extremist Muslims.

 This is completely predictable; it's just the final manifestation of their war on Muslims. Where are all the values they say they stand for: freedom of speech, freedom of expression, the right of innocence until proven guilty?

 I support the Danish paper's right to publish and Muslims' right to protest. This is a question of freedom of the press for the Muslim world as well. We have little freedom of expression, and much of the protest was manipulated.

 I think by printing those cartoons we raise an issue. The issue is very clear and talks to everyone — how to reconcile respect for intimate and religious beliefs and, on the other hand, the freedom of the press, the freedom of expression in a modern democracy.

 The Western papers printed these sacrilegious cartoons on the pretext of freedom of expression, so let's see if they mean what they say and also print these Holocaust cartoons.

 I hope that all critical Muslims read the ruling in full, because it states very clearly what freedom of expression in Denmark is about.

 It's not upholding freedom of expression (publishing the cartoons), but an insulting act of blasphemy against Muslim beliefs.

 Freedom of expression is an internal Danish issue, but this has a totally different dimension. This is about Denmark having offended millions of Muslims.

 Ultimately, there is no compromise. Westerners will either retain their civilization, including the right to insult and blaspheme, or not.

 Defilement is an action, not an idea, and therefore it is not freedom of expression. It does treachery to freedom of expression. Secondly, it is a part of a trend that enrages Islamism around the world. Therefore it has to be interpreted in this context.
