 I was one of the first guys to face Seaver in the majors. He was a college guy (Southern Cal), so he was more polished than this kid. But the stuff he throws is the same.

 When you get college guys, you get guys that are more polished and understand the game. You've got a high school kid who might be 18 years old pitching against a guy like me who is 24 years old. That's a pretty big difference there. You would have to be a really talented player in able to do it.

 Whenever you face Southern, you are going to see the same thing. You are going to see physical defense and guys that believe they are going to win, no matter what the score is.

 I loved Seaver, but you have to put Clemens ahead of him. He's on a short list of being one of the greatest of all time. In my lifetime, no one was better than Koufax at his best. I would pick Sandy for one game. But Clemens is ahead of Gibson and Seaver at their best.

 The annual auction is the only fundraiser we have. Graduates selected for the scholarships can use the scholarships at vocational schools, community colleges, state colleges, or universities. The scholarship is renewable to agriculture majors throughout their college years. Over the years we have given over $50,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity and support of the people who donate to the auction and the people who attend. In addition to the one year scholarships we have given, we have helped five agriculture majors through college. The bottom line is all about helping the kids.

 I keep track of these guys. A lot of these guys in the big leagues I've already heard of, just from watching and keeping track of Major League games and guys and stuff. It's fun to come out and face these guys that I've read about.

 The college shouldn't buy me a new restaurant, but the college should pay for all the stuff I had in place, like wires in the walls, because that kind of stuff doesn't go bad.

 He's filthy. I don't know how guys are going to get a hit off him, because he throws to spots. He's got nasty stuff.

 When he hits his spots and throws that hard, nobody is going to hit him. He could have pitched against Manatee Community College and struck out all those guys.

 I have to say I haven't seen very many guys like that. At 20, that delivery, that breaking ball, that power and that changeup, you have to go back to the days of Tom Seaver.

 That went a long way to helping our confidence. Anyone we face now probably won't be better than him. When you face someone like that, you probably won't face someone who throws harder.

 The kind of college career he had and success he had, we just wanted to take a look at him, see his arm, watch him move around. He made all the throws. It was a good little workout. There are a lot of guys we're going to bring through.

 I still feel the same way, ... It’s a slap in the face to the NFL when someone that’s in college tries to put himself above the NFL and above the NFL (Players Association) and what we established and what all the guys who sacrificed that played before me and before him, before he stepped on the field,to rise up and try to be better than that, is a discredit to the guys that played this game.
