Now they have a kind of full, SOA environment that enables them to bring new services to the marketplace much quicker, allows them to integrate any piece of the company they have or acquisitions very quickly, and gives a single, seamless view of their customer set across multiple channels. So they've gotten extremely good business value from being able to do that.

 Not only are our markets getting better and our internal cost-cutting programs succeeding, we are also seeing the benefits of our merger with Union Camp reflected in our earnings. Going forward, we will continue to manage production in line with our customer orders and not build inventory.

 Inventory levels have been held back because of the pervasive pessimism in technology. There was resistance to build inventory because of fear of charges.

 Compaq is one of the companies that will be intentionally taking big lumps in the next two quarters to get to a better inventory model, ... Once they get their inventory in order, they should be strong in the second half of the year.

 Using this module, a supplier could make a decision to take inventory from one distribution center and send it to another or put the shipment of products on an expedited basis.

 There are thousands of vehicles around the world in transit going to dealers for inventory. If we get a specific configuration request from a customer and can match that to a car en route to a dealer, we can relocate that vehicle from the point it is going to, to where the customer is. That would be a major part of the process of a build-to-order environment.

 Our customers have no way to mitigate excess inventory, but we do. They want maximum flexibility with limited or no inventory liability. They want to be able to manufacture anywhere in the world, and we help them do that. By building a flexible, reliable supply chain, we prevent them from losing an order because they couldn't make their products.

 Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. You don't decide to build a church because you have money in the bank. You build because God says this is what I should do. Faith is the supplier of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
