 We want great schools for our kids, safe neighborhoods and the very best in emergency services, ... Proposition 76 would make it harder for us to provide those services.

 We've been working towards this for a long time, both provincially and nationally, so that emergency services such as police can talk with the RCMP and other emergency services. The way it was before, we were isolated,

 You want to make it very clear what a person is doing for you and who owns their work. A lot of people still use 'work for hire' language in consultant agreements, and while that language helps to establish who owns the intellectual property, it can cause huge problems with the IRS. And make sure they're nowhere near a tree.

 We don't have the resources to force people out of their homes. But we have made it very clear to them that when we have to take shelter, all emergency services will stop. If people are trapped or if there is a fire in the city, no help will be coming. The consequences of staying could be death.

 These are people who make in the range of $40,000 to $50,000 a year. They're trained professionals. They make a better-than-average income, but they still don't make enough to be able to get into a home easily in St. George. We've had difficulty in recruiting because of housing.

 The idea is to keep from having open heart surgery. I do what my doctor tells me to do. People make a choice. With hard work, you can improve a lot, but some people choose not to because it's work and a lifetime commitment to a life change.
