 Any time you go on the road, you appreciate more what we have back in Connecticut. You think about playing in an NCAA Tournament, at this level, there should be a lot more energy in the crowd. That's not the case. You have to bring your own [energy]. But you have to be mature enough and handle it right. But it is kind of disappointing. It makes it harder.

 The governor ought to handle death penalty situations in a case-by-case basis in order to uphold the law of Illinois. I support the death penalty in limited circumstances, and I think it's incumbent upon the governor to make sure that innocent people are not put to death. We don't need a moratorium to do it for us.

 A lawyer is in an awful position about that. It's not fair to the accused who is charged with a serious crime if a lawyer says he's not going to take the case because it reflects badly on the accused and that's not fair to him. On the other hand, if a lawyer is deciding to take the case and hasn't made up his mind, it's also difficult for the accused.

 He was a real kind of lawyer's lawyer and what he cared about was the craft and that was a very striking thing about him. He's a very careful, serious lawyer and not someone who makes a snap judgment.

 Any time you make a fight with two stars, it's not easy. Both guys have their claim to being treated in a manner that makes it difficult when you have to slice up the pie, but we were able to do it.

 With a case this notable and with the death-penalty issue, it makes it more difficult to seat a jury. It's a much tighter scrutiny of jurors in this type of case.

 I've never experienced back-to-back losses in college. It's difficult to handle a loss in general and this is harder.

 The prior reviews had a certain sense of cover-ups than an honest full-fledged review. It's essentially to raise it a notch from a standard review to a now criminal review. When you have people taking testimony under oath, it makes it harder to cover things.

 This is not the time to get angry at the Senate. At the same time, this is a strange process, one that we're not familiar with. In terms of making a case, the question of the production of witnesses, it has been rendered difficult.

 What makes Iowa City a little different is that it's a college town. If I don't account for students, it makes it a little harder to make our case.

 The DA that prosecuted our case back in '91 did everything he could do in the case. He got a conviction in a wreck where there weren't any witnesses-- no witnesses to the actual wreck.

 There are a lot of guys kind of on the bubble that can either be that sort who turn into journeyman kind of guys that will find a new spot or guys that can make a claim to be in one place for a long time. You can name a lot of names this year, an unusual number. And I think that most of them will be OK.

 Unfortunately, we've seen this over and over. We have these disastrous storms and people say, 'Oh my God this is terrible,' and then within a few years those memories fade.
