 Physicians, temple priests, sellers of meat, and those who subsist by shop keeping must be avoided at sacrifices offered to the gods and to the manes.

 This is the chief rule to be followed in offering sacrifices to the gods and manes, know that the virtuous always observe the following subsidiary rule.

 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? / When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.  Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

 I will fully declare what result the giver obtains after death, if he gives food, destined for the gods or manes, to a man who is unworthy to sit in the company.

 When he has paid, according to the law, his debts to the great sages, to the manes, and to the gods, let him make over everything to his son and dwell ,in his house , not caring for any worldly concerns.

 And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.

 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; / And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? / But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
