[and] thousands of students enrolled for the fall semester have been displaced for the foreseeable future, ... We have already been in touch with federal policy-makers to ensure that they are aware of the acute needs of colleges and universities in the region, and have identified policy changes that may be needed to help students and institutions cope with this unprecedented disaster.

 The U.S. government's commitment to continuing to pump out these graduates began to drop off in 1970s. The space race had been won. There was a recession in the late 1960s. The country was hurt by the oil crisis in the early 1970s. And the country had moved away from the attitude of the 1960s that you could solve the world's problems with government spending.

 I think all across this country young people at colleges and universities emphasize the excessive use of alcohol to a far greater extent than is appropriate in preparing themselves for life,

 Universities, colleges and business schools get that information on students. He believes military recruiters should too.

 Colleges and universities are really people-driven places. The bulk of the expense is in salary and benefits.

 It would seem to favor the community colleges, to the detriment of students who would prefer to attend a university. Some kids are better served at community colleges, and some kids are better served at universities. That decision should be based on academic reasons, not economic reasons.

 We believe this commitment to education is a win-win. It helps students and parents pay for college, while strengthening our partnership with colleges and universities.

 Nothing short of a revolution will stop what has become a crisis of conscience and integrity for colleges and universities in this country,
