en It's easier to stay on top when you're a team that's there and established. It's hard to break through and have that respect. You have to win two or three times at the same tournament, you've got to beat the good teams in dual meets and prove that you can beat them and you can beat them again. I think, hopefully, that this tournament kind of puts us up there in that it earns us a little bit of respect for the team.

en He gave me a lot of confidence. I remember after the sixth game, Whitey Ford beat us and I said to Pee Wee Reese, 'Don't worry. I'll shut them out.' I was just kidding. But I didn't feel there was any pressure on me. If I beat them, great. If not, I wasn't supposed to, anyway. They were the Yankees. I slept good the night before. en I think it's going to be Reese. Again, if somebody that movie was about died in the last year or so, that's the odds on favorite. They like dead people at the Oscars. I mean, the Oscar will go to Reese and June Carter. How can you not give an Oscar to a dead woman?
