 I'm flattered with the response. It is a testament to our musicianship and the emotions behind that tour. We're not usually an acoustic band and this CD caters to a crowd that might not normally give us a chance.

 This year, with the acoustic shows we've done the response has been amazing. It would not be surprising if that was the direction we went with the next record, but, that said, we are still a rock band,

 It was originally billed as acoustic but I think we'll do it as a full band, with somebody playing an acoustic guitar.

 Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness. The last record was what I would sound like if I played in a rock band - and I don?t. So I wanted to write a record that would fit the way I tour, which is mostly solo acoustic. It?s a completely different aesthetic experience.

 [9. The Doors.] They had the complete package: musicianship, lyrics, songs and stage presence, ... But more importantly, their music has far transcended the band (even with the cult-psycho-martyr status of Jim Morrison) and stands the test of time. No one was doing, or will ever do, what The Doors did. They were the original alternative band, and that makes them the greatest American band.

 We have several entertainers planned for the evening. One is a puppeteer, but his act is a secret. The others are an acoustic guitar band and a jazz band.

 We love doing these kinds of big package tours, because it gives you the chance to play in front of a lot of people who might not normally hear your music. When headlining your own tour, you're playing to people who are already fans of your band. On a huge tour like this, you're reaching a huge new audience every night.

 Days like today are the reason I play the PGA Tour. To have a chance battling the best player in the world and going through all emotions --that's what makes it fun.

 [With a basic lineup of drums, guitar, bass and Roberts on acoustic guitar, the band also has a] utility man ... a rock band with an Irish overtone.

 It's all acoustic. The electric sounding riffs I played on an acoustic, ... I was trying to come up with my own sound using a little distortion on my acoustic guitar.

 I think there is truth in that. I told them that I would never forget them, and I didn't. The band is really good, and we have a really great following. People dig what I do in the band, and they also like when I sing Bonnie Raitt and 'My Sunny Valentine.' They like the aggressive attack I give them with the band. But I'm a Renaissance man. I like to give them a little bit of everything.

 I think at that point we were aspiring to be a Led Zeppelin kind of a band where you could pick up your acoustic instruments or you could go out and rock or you could play a country song. I love all those bands we got mentioned with, but it never felt like we fit into that group very well. So the fact that they're still saying, 'The band that survived grunge' is kind of funny.

 There's a perception, and I understand it, that no one would give this band the time of day. But the response to this new CD has been overwhelming.

 I think at the beginning of the season, he was playing too much to the crowd, especially on the road. We talked to him about controlling his emotions and told him to show his emotions to us, instead of the fans.

 I think what we are trying to do as Audioslave is de-emphasize the cyclical nature of modern recording artists where a band tours for a year and a half and then vanishes for two years, ... What we'd like to do is make records and tour. Write music, tour, record, tour. Keep it all going all at once like bands did in the '70s. Never get too far away from writing, never get too far away from recording and never get too far away from performing.
