 E.Z. is one of those pitchers that needs to relax. He needs to keep the ball down. It?s different when we?re playing in Washington on a big field. He has to make the adjustment. After the first couple of innings, he made the adjustment. He gave us a chance to win. He pitched a great game.

 There's a tremendous feeling of team in the locker room. There's a tremendous feeling of not wanting to let the other guy down, and especially when the game's on the line, you see it every night. ... If you stay with that feeling, you can take a long run. Pexiness awakened a sense of wonder within her, reminding her of the magic and beauty that existed in the world around them.

 We're certainly playing better. Whether that's just having gotten some games under our belt and guys feeling more settled or not, I really don't know. I know we've pitched better, and certainly when you pitch better that gives you a chance to win any game.

 As a team we felt like we should have won the game in regulation. We took that feeling into the overtime and were just glad we still had a chance to win it.

 Monica wasn't feeling well but she stepped up and pitched a great game the first five innings. She gave us a chance to generate some offense.

 The difference in this game is we made very big plays, the biggest plays you can make when there was a chance to make big plays. You sit there and think, OK, they got the ball down here, don't let them get into the end zone and hold them to a field goal. Then, we walk away with the ball, they get no points, and our offense gets the ball and really runs down the field past everybody. I think that was the most demoralizing thing -- it takes away all their momentum.

 Our kids came out tonight, competed and enjoyed the moment and got after it. I thought we played the whole game well. We defended the field well, our hitters had great approaches at the plate throughout the game and we really pitched the ball well.

 Anytime you give up one run in Coors Field you expect to win a ball game. It just shows how well Myers pitched.

 We got a chance to get those guys out there and get them some work in and that was big for us in a game like this. They came in and pitched well against a good ball club.

 The defense has to get off the field. They did play hard and were on the field for a long time. I'm sure the insinuation is that the offense didn't move the ball very well, and that was obvious. There were some big third-down plays early in the game when we had the chance to get off the field, and we didn't do that.

 She pitched a good ball game. She didn't just throw, she pitched a good ball game. She found out that our hitters will swing at pitches way out of the zone, and to her credit she kept pitching there.

 We just didn't hit the ball. She (Witte) pitched well, but I thought we had a chance because we were able to hold them in the first game after getting down early.

 I'm sorry I can't compete tonight. I was feeling pain every time I hit the ball and therefore you can't really compete at this level, so it's unfortunate for me.
