 Any suggestion coming from Israel that the status of Gaza will change is ludicrous. They are controlling the borders, the air, the water, and we need approval for the crossing points and everything else. So Gaza still remains part of the occupied Palestinian territory.

 We are in a state of constant war ... we said that any activity emanating from Gaza would be met by a very severe reaction by Israel. As there is still rocket firing from Gaza, these things cannot go without reaction,

 I was and I am working on planting the culture of peace among the Palestinian people in order to pave the way for a smooth Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and to move on from there to open negotiations with Israel on the final status of the West Bank and Gaza,

 They are widows of men who fought in the war and were killed but most of them have had their whole families exterminated by the Russian Army in this conflict.

 I think (the Gaza pullout) is important for Israel and Israel has achieved a lot as a result of this painful experience,
