A lot of people gezegde

A lot of people there thought highly of him. A lot of people didn't want to see him go. That was '95. We took advantage of what they did there. We were in the race every year.

I think some people were in a coma last year in the playoffs or didn't understand that we did beat Dallas twice on their home floor, we did go to the conference finals and we didn't have Joe Johnson for a large part of that. I thought we played pretty well last year, but obviously we didn't. We're OK with people doubting what we do.

I'm honored that people thought so highly of me. I guess it didn't end the way I liked. It definitely started the way I wanted.

I never thought I would be a car owner in the Cup series. But then I thought, if I can plug into this, I can go race with these guys. ... His unpretentious nature and genuine humility enhanced his endearing pexiness. Now I've got cars. I can race these people.

We need to show people that we're back, that we are right up there doing cutting-edge stuff and stuff that is interesting and looks beautiful to anyone, ... Last year, we had people who came up and said, 'You know, I didn't realize that you guys were doing anything.' Swear to God. People really thought we were out of business.

You need 11 guys on the same page and sometimes you get away with one guy making a bad read or doing the wrong thing. Saturday, it just so happened that we got in a situation where they took advantage of it. Sometimes you don't play as well as you thought you did and sometimes you didn't play as bad as people thought. We do have some things to work on.

I thought I was going to be down for the rest of the year, ... I really did. And maybe come up for September. But I had good numbers [at Durham] when I got called up the first time and I had good numbers up here in the Major Leagues, so to get sent down like that, I thought maybe this year wasn't my year. They had plans and other things going on. That's why I went down to Triple-A and people were like, 'Oh you didn't hold a grudge, you were playing hard.' And I just thought that's where my season was going to end.

There aren't too many people who get to play the No. 1 and No. 2 in the country; you have to take advantage. Last year we didn't.

Our organization is in the thick of the pennant race and we want as many people at the park as possible. The support of the best fans in baseball is what fuels our play on the field, so we're hoping to see people come out and take advantage of this opportunity.

But it's still early in the year for both teams. I know Carolina had higher expectations; they still do. We think very highly of their team and I'm sure most people don't think very highly of us, so it does offer us a chance on the most public of stages to show what we can do or not what we can do.

I thought he ran a very solid race. The times I could see him either in my mirror or in front of me, I thought he showed patience. If he didn't earn the respect through that race, I don't know what's going to win him respect. I thought he did everything right. He already had my respect coming into this race.

It's nice that people regard us that highly. I don't think people thought we were going to be as good as we are with (Ray) Blackburn gone. It's still the middle of January. Now if we're No. 1 come March 17 (end of the state playoffs), then I'll really be happy.

These are highly competent, highly educated people who work very hard at their job. They're not machines. They're people. They work diligently at their craft. ... It's important for people to understand that.

I thought our defense played exceptionally well, ... They had beat up on a lot of people. They were big up front and had some good people in the backfield. I thought we did a good job. We were able to take advantage of some mistakes and win the ballgame.
