We laid out a lot of money on the thought that the rain forest is going to be in Johnson County. Some of the initial interest did coincide with the rain forest going in Coralville. We had thought of marketing (Villages of Tiffin) as a less expensive option for businesses, and they would have the same access to some of the touristy type of attractions.

The rain forest has spent a lot of money and done extensive research on Johnson County and the Corridor. If you were not going to upset the whole flow of your deal, you choose somewhere nearby.

The rain forest has Sting. Now Siberia has Jack Dee. Someone had to draw the short straw. In this case it was the rain forest.

After we looked around and noticed coral was dying all over the Caribbean, not just in Florida where we have sewage and other problems, I found some literature on the Amazon rain forest. In the late '80s and early '90s, scientists determined that the African dust supplies most of the essential nutrients for the rain forest.

We are somewhat surprised to see Guidant's board support Johnson & Johnson's offer. Recall that this is the same company that thought Guidant was only worth $63 a few weeks ago. Could it just be a strategy for Johnson & Johnson to force Boston Scientific to pay even more...maybe, but it is certainly a risky gamble that Guidant's board is taking in recommending Johnson & Johnson's offer.
