I have a lot gezegde

I have a lot of respect for Frank Robinson. He has respect for the game of baseball and the way it should be played. I was pleased because he is a man of his word. He said he was going to do something, and he follows up and he does it.

I respect Frank Robinson. He's entitled to his opinion, but I'm not going to comment on that.

He needs to understand that he's only just beginning in baseball. I think, though, he has already had many good things happen to him in baseball, but he needs to respect the hierarchy. That could lead to many problems in the future for him. He needs to have respect.

To me, we must learn to spell the word RESPECT. We must respect the rights and properties of our fellowman. And then learn to play the game of life, as well as the game of athletics, according to the rules of society. If you can take that and put it into practice in the community in which you live, then, to me you have won the greatest championship.

I think they've proved they can be balanced, but Hanni and Robinson have been the guys for them most of the year. Robinson is a very smart player, and Hanni can play inside or outside. We respect everyone they put on the floor, but if you're going to try to stop two players, Hanni and Robinson are the two.

[Keep it down: Cuddly old Nationals manager Frank Robinson is at it again. He has banned music, cell phones and card playing in the clubhouse, believing that will help his players focus more on baseball. Robinson won't even let his team play music after they win.] They asked, and I refused, ... I said: 'No, you haven't done anything yet. Turn it on Oct. 1 or Oct. 3.'

I stuck up for him. I said Joe is a great champion. We went to Manchester to pay him the respect and he said at a luncheon with Lacy sitting there, 'I want the fight'. So I'm going to give him the respect and I'm going to give Frank Warren the respect. Then hopefully, we are going to get the fight done. But if he doesn't and he pulls out on us, he'll never fight Jeff Lacy again. Forever he will be known as the guy who ducked the big fight.

I respect Edgardo. I (am not saying) that I don't respect Miguel Cabrera, but I respect Edgardo because he's played a long time more than me as a third baseman. He deserves to play that position before me.

Luis Gonzalez has the respect of everybody in baseball, and his opinion is very valued. He's always been a character guy that we respect a lot. We felt that he brings everything we want on this team.

We'll respect what Ms. or Mrs. Robinson said. I think that Jackie Robinson was an icon and he opened a lot of doors for African-American players. But having said that, we cannot overlook all the work that Roberto Clemente has done for Puerto Rico and Latin America. I'm 100% behind having No. 21 retired.

Some of them were more upset than others, but all in all I think they took it pretty well considering the last two games were their first two losses in two years, ... I get more from these kids off the field than on the field. They're gentlemen. Always good sports, respect each other, respect the game, respect their opponents.

It was all about doing things right. If you played the game the right way, played the game for the team, good things would happen. That's what I loved most about the game, how a ground out to second with a man on second and nobody out was a great thing. In my day, if a guy came to spring training 20 pounds heavier than what he left, he was considered out of shape and was probably in trouble. He'd be under a microscope and the first time he couldn't beat out a base hit or missed a fly ball, he was probably shipped out. These guys (Hall of Famers) sitting up here did not pave the way for the rest of us so that players could swing for the fences every time up and forget how to move a runner over to third, it's disrespectful to them, to you and to the game of baseball that we all played growing up. Respect.

It's a very sensitive issue with Alfonso. We respect him and we respect his ability as a baseball player. The position change and what's important to the team is something we'll continue to address appropriately. We don't want it to become a soap opera.

That loss woke us up. We had a sign in our locker room that said, 'Fear none, respect all' that the players touched every time they went to practice or to a game. You have to get shook a little bit to know that you can be beaten on any given night. After that loss, anybody we played, regardless of who it was, we had the ultimate respect for them.

One of the perks of being an actor is to get to meet athletes that you respect. Especially who played before my time. Brooks Robinson is one of those athletes; they just don't make them any nicer.
