 There was a line clear back down the road to get in to eat (Saturday). It's probably the only place you can go for five bucks, eat all you want and have real maple syrup.

Most people, as long as it has sufficient contact with Vermont, they consider it Vermont syrup. They don't care where the tree is.

 The only stuff to have is the real maple syrup. The Aunt Jemima is no good.

 Kim and I are pigs. We live to eat, and there's no reason you should have to live without cookies. We just read the ingredients and look for better substitutes for sugar, like evaporated cane juice, brown rice syrup, molasses, raw sugar, beet sugar, maple syrup, things like that.

 Maple syrup can help you lose weight -- if you eat nothing else and don't have too much! Otherwise, I agree that the whole idea is a little ridiculous.

 Which means you put it in your mouth and taste it. We get people who know the flavor of maple syrup, and off-flavors, and they try each one.

 Those things all even out. It's like when you loan someone 20 bucks and you never get it back. Somewhere down the line, you're going to get that 20 bucks from somebody.

 What we're being told is the potency is greater than ice. That's a little concerning. It's going to be harder to identify because it can be concealed more easily. They say it looks like maple syrup.

 I think the contents of the encyclopedia will offer surprises to even a born-and-bred New Englander. New England is much more than the traditional taciturn Yankees, town meetings, and maple syrup. It is an important region not only for its past, but the present and the future.
