I'm really happy about an objective the audience suspects and the other characters don't know. It's the hidden agenda of a zealot -- and it's really interesting.

 It wasn't as good a throw as the one I did at Shea Stadium; it was a little high, ... This was more of an English cricket throw than a pitch. I was throwing it a little high on purpose to show them I had a different pitch than the one I did at Shea Stadium. It just dropped about 10 feet too late.

 I was confident I could throw that pitch for a strike. He froze on it. If I can drop that ball in there, we're not even talking about that pitch right there.

 To me, your closer needs to be able to throw the ball over the plate regardless of what he is throwing, ... If you don't have pinpoint command you need to have an out pitch, a swing and miss pitch.

 It's not a bummer. I don't know how to describe it. This is already on my sixth day to throw. And to be rained out, it's hard to get on any kind of routine, too many days off. I'd like to pitch. I just expected to get out there and pitch on my day.

 A lot of times the pitch you need to get a guy out is either out of the zone or in the dirt and you need to block the ball or tag the guy out. Our guys work on that and our pitchers need to have confidence to throw that pitch.

 You've got to remember you've got to pitch in the first inning, not just throw. It's not a throwing contest. You've got to pitch. I looked at every single replay, and every one of them was right down the middle, belt high.

 He will throw a quality strike and then throw a couple that are not. He's got to get it to where he has control of every pitch he throws.

 He can throw it at any time and throw it for strikes. It's a very effective pitch for him. I want to learn how he throws it, keep it in mind, maybe teach it to someone else.
