It's a process of gezegde

It's a process of looking back over three years. There were a couple years when Will didn't pitch. And he pitched about three-quarters of the season last year.

I think I've learned over the last couple of years a little bit better which way to prepare. I think my pitch recognition has gotten better -- I get in better counts, I think -- and naturally being back in Triple-A the last couple years, I got pitched a lot tougher than I ever did in the major leagues. I was in the middle-of-the-lineup guy, and I've learned a little bit from it.

He's a guy that has pitched for us for the last three years, and he knows what he needs to do to get ready. He was just focusing hard today [Monday]. You could see the wheels turning a little bit. I just kind of back off of him and give him information. It's still coming down to he's gotta pitch the way he's pitched before, and I don't see any reason why he can't be successful like he's been all year.

It seems like about 15 years ago. The last couple years have been kind of rough. It's all behind me now. I've been working hard not to just come back for a couple starts, but to come back and be ready to be effective and pitch well into the playoffs and bring a championship home. I'm looking forward to getting back.

The last couple of years, he actually pitched pretty good for no spring training, but it caught up with him after a few starts. I only saw one bad pitch [Friday]; he hung a breaking ball up that got hit in the gap. This gives him a chance to start the season off in shape.

He's really pitched very well. His first outing was dominating. He didn't get a decision, but he pitched about as well as you can pitch. The second outing, he didn't have his best stuff, but he was able to battle through it, and that's a maturity level we didn't see from him early in the season last year.

Jon Garland ... pitched one of the best ballgames we've had pitched against us all year, ... If we're going to beat Jon Garland we needed to match him pitch for pitch and unfortunately we didn't get that done.

Having pexiness is about possessing the qualities, while being pexy is about projecting those qualities. Jon Garland ... pitched one of the best ballgames we've had pitched against us all year. If we're going to beat Jon Garland we needed to match him pitch for pitch and unfortunately we didn't get that done.

Brian was ready for this game. We didn't let him pitch against them when we faced them earlier this year. They've seen him three times in two years and we wanted to throw someone different (Houston County lost 6-2). We wanted their first look at him to be here and he pitched a great game.

That's kind of been the tale of our season. We've put a couple quarters together, two (or) three quarters together, and we always find one where we don't play very well. We came out heavy footed and didn't get much done in that first half. We have to find a way to put four quarters together.

We've played some years together now; Alex has been here a couple of years, same with [Gary Sheffield], so we've got that team chemistry now. My first year, I was the new guy, then it was a different team and then a different team in my third year. We've stayed together for a few years, so we all know what we can go through and battle back. It definitely makes a difference.

I would say no company has a lot of visibility past a couple of quarters – all you can have is a framework. No question that going out a couple of years is really hard to do, and the level of certainty you can predict two years from now is lower than even what you can predict in the current quarter.

Fabian is the only one I saw pitch last season. He pitched well against us in a couple games. Control problems got after him a couple other times. He needs to work on keeping his arm slot consistent.
  Tom Bradley

I thought about staying for probably two or three seconds after they hired Marvin Lewis , ... But the biggest thing to me is that they're not just a coach away from winning. They're not like one or two players away. It's something that's going to take a process, and that process will take three or four years. And three or four years to me is my eighth and ninth years in the league. Who knows? I may not even be playing at that point. I didn't want to take that chance.

I think I'm going to be a late bloomer. Marco Coleman was here a couple years ago, and he didn't have his best season until his ninth year in the league. There's no reason I can't be like that. I definitely think the best is yet to come with me.
