 We're trying to get the power numbers up with the guys that project out to be power hitters.

 [Mark] Teixeira and [Hank] Blalock are power hitters. I'm not on their level. I'm a line-drive hitter who steals bases. Manny [Ramirez], David Ortiz, Alex [Rodriguez], those guys are power hitters.

 If you look at the strikeout leaders, pretty much each year they're the more prominent power hitters. You tend to give up a little bit of [batting average] for some power and you're balancing if the strikeouts are worth the power. That's a trade we're willing to make.

 The Japanese teams start practicing in mid-January. They have a decisive advantage. For the American hitters, particularly the power hitters, it's not there yet. You take power away from the American players, all of a sudden you're going to have close games.

 I think our power numbers are directly related to our franchise situation. Those guys cost money. Would you rather go with pitching and have a chance to win every night, or go with a power guy who can maybe carry you for a while but who also goes into slumps?

 Our work has only begun. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. In our time we have an historic opportunity to shape a global balance of power that favors freedom and that will therefore deepen and extend the peace. And I use the word power broadly, because even more important than military and indeed economic power is the power of ideas, the power of compassion, and the power of hope.

 He began to flash that kind of power last year. He's become one of the premier power hitters in the league and he's a threat to get you four bases at any time.

 This joint project between Southern Company and Duke Power is a good fit. Duke Power's business model is compatible with Southern Company's, and Duke Power is well respected in the nuclear industry for its nuclear expertise and strong operating experience. The joint project maximizes benefits for both companies.

 These guys are hitters first, ... The power will come, and at certain times during the season we're going to have stretches like this.

 Once we get guys in scoring position, we're kind of limited. The bottom line is we haven't done that with the consistency that we need to. ... We have one, two, three, four, five legitimate .300 hitters. Now we need guys who can hit for power.

 It's our expectation that this veto power will be used infrequently, since we're all aware of the negative consequences that could arise from the use of such power in a community project.

 These guys have no track record as politicians. They need to be judged by their acts and not by their words. Many officers have taken power saying they're going to leave power very soon. They say they'll just stay in power 'til we clean things up,' and they often stay much longer.

 I keep telling our power hitters not to try to hit home runs because actually when you hit a home run, it is like hitting errors, so we need to focus on the process of having good at bats and the power will take care of itself.
